Fatal Seduction Volume 1 Plot
After a fun-filled night out, Nandi finds out that her best friend, Brenda, has ended her own life. What turns out to be just a heartbreaking situation turns out to be much more than a night of fun and frolicking. When the present starts to merge with the past and more skeletons are pulled out from closets, who is guilty and who is innocent in this game of deceit?
Fatal Seduction Volume 1 Review
When you start watching Fatal Seduction, you will be painfully aware of the fact that this “sexy” TV series is sort of (exactly) like Dark Desire and a few other similar shows in the genre. The series, which starts off with a lot of steamy scenes and butt-grabs, is definitely not one you watch in front of your family and is sort of icky as well. Thus, if you have been a fan of Dark Desire and similar stories, then this is going to be your cup of tea.
Fatal Seduction has a ton of twists and turns – don’t be fooled by the uncomfortable and graphic sex scenes – there’s a ton of background behind that nastiness that might just keep you guessing. Everyone is backstabbing everyone else, and of course, everyone sleeps with everyone. However, there still is some thrill to get out of the raunchy show, as you’d be left wondering whether the obvious suspect really did commit murder or was it simply a suicide.

Of course, there is the obvious thrill of the scorned sidepiece threatening to rat out the passionate romance to the spouse. The will-they, won’t-they is a constant part of the series and keeps coming back here and there. However, in spite of all of these things, this threat of the truth coming out never really reaches any threat level. Sometimes you will feel a bit concerned, but overall, all these people are just so bad that you don’t really feel any which way for them. Like, I mean, they sorta deserve the bad that is coming their way, you know?
That’s the thing about these shows – everyone just makes the worst possible decision imaginable given any situation. Something that a simple conversation could’ve solved gets pulled in a million directions, resulting in a mess of astronomical proportions. The thing here is, although sometimes you would like to watch characters such as these, almost all of Netflix’s shows are variations of these characters, and people are slowly reaching their limits at this point.
Fatal Seduction episode 7, titled The Truth Shall Break You, doesn’t really give us many truths, which I am sure are kept for the rest of the upcoming episodes. However, we get a glimpse of who (maybe) are and aren’t the bad people. Although a lot is made clear, the greater truth we still have to wait to find out. Which is fine; I think it works well for the show. The first 7 episodes are as interesting as you’d expect, so the cliffhanger feels justified.

Kgomotso Christopher plays Nandi, the lead, who is pushed into a messy situation which is far bigger than her cheating issue. She is quite watchable as someone torn between a rock and a hard place, as well as someone who is just about to learn some very unpleasant things about the people around her. Although she is not a good person, she is still watchable. Prince Grootboom as Jacob is also fine and looks quite menacing, especially in the last scene.
Final Thoughts
Fatal Seduction Volume 1 is about as good as you’d expect a steamy thriller to be. There’s a lot of unnecessary and graphic sex that is there for the shock factor. The mystery is somewhat twisty, although smarter and a bit more likeable characters would’ve made watching this a lot better. That being said, I think most would wait to find out what happens at the end of the show, although I must say, it just gets really cringy after a while!
Fatal Seduction Volume 1 is streaming on Netflix.
