Re:ZERO Season 4 Episode 15 Review
Re:ZERO Reveals How Reid Got Roy’s Body

Today’s episode takes a chaotic turn as Subaru confronts Reid Astrea, who was none other than Roy Alphard. However, how could Roy look like Reid? Turns out, Reid completely overwhelmed Roy, and his consciousness or soul took over the Archbishop. That is why this became a positive thing for Reid, who got an actual physical body for himself, which is why he could also come down from his realm. This made it easy for him to wreak havoc and fight against Subaru and others.

The fight intensified, and we realise one thing: Reid is definitely one of the strongest characters from this franchise. In his fight, he was also absolutely merciless and did not care who was in front of him. However, interestingly enough, the huge spider, which is apparently none other than Shaula, also comes to join the fight. The whole thing descends into chaos, and Subaru dies for the umpteenth time.
Subaru Learns Shaula’s Biggest Secret in Re:ZERO

Subaru really tries many other ways to counter everyone’s death one way or another without confronting Shaula. However, when every other option fails, he finally goes to her and asks whether she will actually listen to him if he asks her to do anything. Shaula, determined in her devotion, says that she will even kill herself if Subaru asks her. Here, we get to understand the bond that Shaula had with her original master through Subaru and her interaction.

Shaula felt extremely lonely when her Master left her in the tower, and she had been waiting for him for all these years. That is why she hid one key factor or rule of the tower from Subaru. She was turning into a spider because Reid broke the rule by leaving his realm. At first, Shaula refused to give out the fifth rule, and when she started to go through her beast transformation, she told Subaru that the fifth rule was that destroying tests or trials themselves was not forbidden.
One Book Could Hold the Key to Subaru’s Escape
This was not Subaru’s last loop. Even though he knew what was making Shaula turn into a beast, he had no idea how he could stop Reid from coming down. There was even a time when Subaru thought that perhaps if he could stop Roy from giving Reid a physical body, things could work out. However, that would also prove to be wrong. Then how can Subaru break this loop? Things completely change when, towards the end, he finds a book that could actually hold all the answers to his problems.

Final Thoughts
This was a very interesting and well-executed episode. I loved the fact that we are finally getting some answers to the mysteries of the tower. Shaula turning into a beast and her hiding a rule was unexpected yet very believable. Even though she acts as an airheaded girl most of the time, her love for her master was so serious that she resorted to lying. Apart from that, Reid overtaking Roy’s body was also something that gave a nice touch to the story. I’m definitely interested to see how things will go after Subaru reads the book.
