Escaype Live, a thriller series starring Plabita Borthakur, was released on Disney+ Hotstar last Friday. Along with Plabita, the show also stars Siddharth, Jaaved Jaaferi, Shweta Tripathi, Swastika Mukherjee, and Waluscha De Sousa. In the series, Borthakur plays a bold character – Fetish Girl.
In an interaction with Leisurebyte, Plabita Borthakur talked about playing such an interesting character. She talked about the physical and emotional challenges she faced while prepping for the role. The actor said, “It was challenging for me. First of all, I had to work a lot on body language because Fetish is a stripper. You know strippers have a particular body language, they move in a certain way, they talk in a certain way. So I had to train myself for that. I had a lot of dance classes and choreography sessions.”
Further, she explained how the team and she ensured that they got Fetish Girl right in every manner. Plabita Borthakur added, “Every act of Fetish Girl has been properly designed and choreographed with the props, with the costume and what goes out when, what what is used with particular dialogue. So all the scenes were reversed and choreographed. So there was a lot of effort that was put in by everybody, by everyone including me. I think apart from that obviously I was on a diet for the longest time. I was working out every day, doing dance classes and I was totally tired by the end of the day when i was prepping.”
“Apart from all of that, what I found very challenging was just the emotional part of it. To be able to make myself comfortable in my own skin. I think that took a while because you know as women we are very protective of ourselves. We need to be very protective of how we are portrayed, how we portray ourselves. So i think that was a major concern for me. I had to prepare myself a lot,” the Escaype Live actor added.
