Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 9 Reactions: Fans are Loving the ‘Thirty-Nine’ Reference

Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 9 Reactions are happy to see some reference to the other k-drama from the same crew and the cameo by veteran actress Kim Hae-sook, which is winning hearts.

It (신성한, 이혼) is a Korean courtroom drama series, co-directed by Lee Jae-hoon and Lim Jun-hyuk. The screenplay is written by Yoo Young-ah and it has been adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Kang Tae-kyung, which was published from 10 September 2019 to 31 August 2021 by Kakao.

The cast of the series includes Cho Seung-woo as Shin Sung-han, Han Hye-jin as Lee Seo-jin, Kim Sung-kyun as Jang Hyeong-geun, Jung Moon-sung as Jo Jeong-sik, Kang Mal-geum as Kim So-yeon, Jeon Bae-soo as Park Yu-seok, Han Eun-seong as Choi Jun, Cha Hwa-yeon as Ma Geum-hee, and Noh Susanna as Jin Young-joo among others.

The episode starts with the case of Ma Chun-seok and his Vietnamese wife Dinh Thi Hoa, who claims to be physically assaulted by him and wants a divorce. During the trial Park Yu-seok put up the arguments like the wife had to work on the large farms all day to the husband’s violent nature etc that would help them win the case.

But Shin Sung-han had the proof and answer for every argument which eventually helps him in bringing the truth forward about the defendent’s wife. Although they win the case, Ma Chun-seok decides to build a life together with his wife and eventually accepts her. Meanwhile, his win turns heavy on Park Yu-seok who might lose his job because of it.

The episode had a cameo from actress Kim Hae-sook, who portrayed the role of the noodle shop owner, who was away due to her bad health. Her interaction with the three friends is definitely heartwarming to watch but also leaves an easter egg for the audience to find. Having also created another k-drama called Thirty Nine, which stars Son Ye-jin, Jeon Mi-do and Kim Ji-hyun, the creators put in the reference to the show and Ye-jin’s character.

As glad the viewers were to hear them talk, many hoped that there could be a cameo from the said character. Meanwhile, with a few episodes left, viewers are looking forward to seeing how the show ends & what more secrets will be revealed in the process.
