Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 3 Reactions call Shin Sung-han’s character refreshing yet they want to help him out of his miserable past. Meanwhile, Lee Seo-jin is slowly finding a place in his office and her new antics are definitely winning the people over.
It (신성한, 이혼) is a Korean courtroom drama series, co-directed by Lee Jae-hoon and Lim Jun-hyuk. The screenplay is written by Yoo Young-ah and it has been adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Kang Tae-kyung, which was published from 10 September 2019 to 31 August 2021 by Kakao.
The cast of the series includes Cho Seung-woo as Shin Sung-han, Han Hye-jin as Lee Seo-jin, Kim Sung-kyun as Jang Hyeong-geun, Jung Moon-sung as Jo Jeong-sik, Kang Mal-geum as Kim So-yeon, Jeon Bae-soo as Park Yu-seok, Han Eun-seong as Choi Jun, Cha Hwa-yeon as Ma Geum-hee, and Noh Susanna as Jin Young-joo among others.
Netflix’s synopsis of the show reads:
DRIVEN BY A PERSONAL TRAGEDY, A PIANIST-TURNED-LAWYER NAVIGATES THE COMPLEX WORLD OF DIVORCE — FIGHTING FOR HIS CLIENTS TO WIN BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
In the latest episode, we see that Shin Sung-han wakes up to his viral video of playing the piano drunk, while it has been a month since Lee Seo-jin’s divorce and she is steadily trying to build an amicable relationship with her son. But to be able to retain her custody rights she needs to show proof of employment that would deem her ability to provide for the child.
Not being able to find an appropriate job, she ends up at Sung-han’s office and requests a job. Initially, they are hesitant to employ her and ask her to follow to her personal office, so that he can refuse her politely. But the door gets stuck again & looking at it as an opportunity, Seo-jin comments that she can be quite a handful at the office while taking the stuck door apart. By using a ruler, wax, lighter & other stationery she fixes the door along with her unemployment issue.
This moment is making the viewers rejoice and even call her a DIY queen. Meanwhile, the case of Park Ae-ran and her mother-in-law takes a bad turn when it is revealed that the building actually belongs to Ae-ran and his husband. Slowly she is trying to gather enough evidence to help her win the case and the division of the property.
Coming straight from the past, the episode revealed how Sung-han’s motivation behind becoming a divorce lawyer is essentially her sister. Who met with a tragic fate after her divorce case, which was tampered with by her own attorney because of money. The same attorney turns up at his office & informs him that he won’t be able to see his nephew anymore, as per the stepmother’s wishes.
Sung-han challenges it & after being almost threatened, Park Yu-seok appoints an intern to find out all about his current case & he might try to meddle with it. The episode ends on a sad note with flashbacks of Sung-han’s sister that make him miserable. On a brighter note, SEVENTEEN’s appearance in the drama came as a delightful surprise to many.
