Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba Season 3 Episode 4 Review- Thank You, Tokito!

Any Demon Slayer fan would tell you that the show is at its best when it displays a battle between good and bad, between immortals and mortals, and between demons and demon slayers. The fight choreography and the animation by studio ufotable are both absolutely top-notch. They do a lot to increase the stakes and weight of every battle and make the show way more interesting than it would be without them. This is one of those stories which are best enjoyed in anime form.

Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Episode 4 was no exception in that it was extremely fast-paced, violent, well-choreographed, well-animated, and every other adjective you can throw at it. It was engaging and fun to watch and deserves a lot of credit for being able to raise the stakes of the show this much this quickly after ending the previous arc only three episodes ago but raising the stakes it did. It is easy to believe that all the food guys might drop dead at any moment right now, which says a lot.

However, despite all this, we are in the “less explaining, more fighting” phase of the show at the moment, which translates to “just do cool stuff, even if it doesn’t make a lot of sense at the moment and would look out of character for how the show really operates”. So many cool things happened here, but I don’t believe even a single one was afforded even a thought inside the characters’ heads. How is Genya doing all that, and why isn’t he dead? How is Tanjiro not dead or even scratched after his battle with the flying demon? Where are all these new powers even coming from?

Speaking of Tanjiro, he was made to look extremely competent in Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 4 and took care of a lot of business as a Demon Slayer. His abilities have always been well-honed, but he was practically a superhuman in his fight as he took an extreme amount of punishment and came out of the other end relatively unscathed. Tokito, Nezuko, and Genya also had great showings in this episode as the Demon Slayer Corps was once again pushed into a corner that was going to be hard to escape from.

This is the most common opinion to have online at the moment, but Twitter is a cesspool. It was the same way before Elon Musk and his cult of Twitter Blue warriors decided that your opinions didn’t matter until you decide to enrich the pockets of the richest man in the world, but it is much, much worse now. Well, at least the anime world is busy talking about how “bad” the CGI in this is. It is not, and if you’re wasting precious time complaining about something that looks this good, I sincerely hope you find something better to do soon.
Verdict
Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 4 was a highly entertaining and fun-to-watch outing that didn’t explain much of what it displayed and left us in hopes that we will get some answers soon.
