A mysterious disappearance and an even more surprising return after a decade spell trouble in a wealthy family from the Joseon Dynasty, To make matters worse, the one person close to the young boy now doubts his return and slowly finds herself falling in love with the man who has returned home.

Born in a wealthy merchant family in the late Joseon Dynasty, Sim Hong-rang was set to become the successor to the family, However, things took a turn when he mysteriously disappeared at the age of 8, with no trace left behind. His half-sister, Sim Jae-i, had always been close to this beloved younger brother of hers and never lost the hope of finding him. However, things are never easy for a girl in this era who is living with her stepmother.

A decade later, Hong-rang suddenly returns home, but with no memory of his childhood. He has grown up living in luxury and has returned to find his true identity. However, what he carries with himself is a secret everyone wants to know, especially Jae-i, who doesn’t believe that he is the brother she once loved and lost. She believes that he is not her brother, but soon finds herself falling for him.

Meanwhile, there is another character in this story. Jae-i’s stepmother and Hong-rang’s birth mother- Min Yeon-ui. After the disappearance of Hong-ran, it is Yeon-ui who has the hardest time. However, she slowly grew up to become the most powerful figure in the merchants’ association and has turned to have become an arrogant personality. Her estranged relationship with Jae-i resulted in her stepdaughter’s troubled personality, which has overshadowed her intelligence and beauty.

What will be the result of this decade later entanglement? What is Hong-rang’s secret? Will he ever find his real identity? Will Jae-i ever find out what happened to her brother?

Dear Hongrang Release Date and Time

The new Korean drama is set to release on Friday, May 16th, 2025. The series consists of 11 episodes that will all release on the said date on Netflix, exclusively. The series will be released on the OTT platform at 12:30 PM IST.
