Deaimon Episode 10 Review- A Story Of The Past

The previous episode brought us into the theme of winter. The love triangle continued to quarrel with not-so-subtle actions and glares, with Nagomu remaining blissfully unaware. Honestly, Nagomu and Kanoko still do not seem to be over each other and hold potential for a future relationship. Itsuka’s worrying over her Kanoko and Mitsuru fighting is quite hilarious, and the series is continuing to progress well.

Deaimon Episode 10 begins with the year coming to an end. With the preparation in place for the celebration of the New Year, Nagomu and his father bond while preparing sweets for their pre-placed orders for some loyal customers. We have seen Nagomu being chided over and over by his parents throughout the series. And even though they might have his best interest at heart (because of the general theme of this series), their words can be perceived as harsh and at times, even brutal. Deaimon Episode 10 puts to rest any of these concerns. Nagomu’s father is finally depicted as being supportive of Nagomu, and it is heartwarming!

We are introduced to two little girls and their grandmother in this episode of Deaimon. The elder of the siblings is going through some problems- on a small, personal scale, and does not like her name. It was a very touching incident, and the story behind her name makes us feel even more intimate and warm.
This episode of Deaimon also showed us that almost all of Itsuka’s frostiness towards Nagomu is gone. And despite this episode focusing mainly on non-central characters, it was very lovely. Everyone was treated with sincerity. Many characters get the closure they did not know they were even looking for, showing organic growth within just 24 minutes of the episode. The traditional sweets of the season were depicted well once again. Even traditional Japanese events such as Otoshidama on the New Year were sweetly depicted.

The color palette of this episode of Deaimon was sober for the first half of the episode and in the flashbacks. The grandmother’s story and her struggles are sensitive topics and were handled well. The animation flowed smoothly. The next episode seems to be related to Itsuka’s father. Finally, we will be getting our long-awaited answers!

Prognosis
Deaimon Episode 10 was bittersweet, filled with a melancholic air that is quite a reminiscence of the winter season. With sweet characters and an even sweeter plot, this episode was amazing!
