Up10tion artist Kim Woo-seok recently released some music, and the Dawn MV video is a little peek into what the rest of the mini album is going to be like. His Extended Play (EP) or mini-album is titled Blank Page and contains six songs, including, Intro: Blank Page, Dawn, Love and Hate, Heaven, Are you There, Slip and Missing you. In this music video, we see the artist moving to the beat and speaking about how he will be writing down his love.
The video starts off really strong, showing some highly saturated shots while also engaging in some dramatic movement in the frame. We then see the singer move to something a little tamer but is still contrasted enough to be in the same vein as what was happening before. After involving some intricate set pieces and interesting framing choices, we get to see the artist perform closely to the camera, essentially making this like a mix tape.

In essence, the music video is a larger and professionally shot home video for a loved one. It is made with similar levels of homeliness and grandeur. The duality doesn’t just stem from Kim Woo-seok employing his charms in different ways. It also extends to the video showcasing the two different sides of a person. While it is a love song, the video makes it simple that this is just a person laying down their personality in front of the other person in all its glory.
This is how it is to be surrounded by people all the time, but it is also quite reflective, even though all of this feels like being boxed in denim. It must be noted that the editing in this video is fantastic. The cuts and the transitions from one setting to another are absolutely brilliant. The K-Pop music video appreciation truly does not stop when it comes to the settings, lighting, costume and choreography. Every single of these elements rocks when it comes to a music video.

Kim Woo-seok has been in two boy bands, Up10tion and X1 (from 2019 to 2020). The former’s most recently released project was in 2022, with the extended play or mini-album Code Name: Arrow. There are six songs in it, including Angel, What if Love, Boom, Flash, Starlight and Rewind. They debuted in 2015 under TOP Media and contained ten members, including Kuhn, Bit-to, Gyujin, Kogyeol, Jinhoo, Hwanee, Lee Jin-Hyuk, XIAO and Kim Woo-seok.
Three members of the group announced their departure this year, Jinhoo, Lee Jin-hyuk and Kim Woo-seok. After departing, they discontinued contributing to the band in February of 2023, making this Woo-seok’s first solo project. This is a wonderful opportunity for a first-time solo to show audiences a new personality, which was done exceptionally well.
