Rohit Shetty’s upcoming 2022 film, Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh as a dual persona, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Sharma is going to be the Bollywood ‘pataka’ we’ll need this Christmas. The film follows a chain of inspirations from previous Hindi movies like Angoor (1982) and Do Dooni Chaar (1968) (adapted from the Bengali Bhranti Bilas), ultimately finding the source text in Shakespeare’s play The Comedy Of Errors.
Edited by Bunty Nagi, it will feature music from Devi Sri Prasad, Tanishk Bagchi, Badshah and more and has been produced by Shetty alongside Reliance Entertainment and T-Series Films. Special appearances from Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn are yet another alluring aspect of the movie.

T-Series released the trailer for the forthcoming period comedy set in the ’60s on its YouTube channel and it seems like Singh is not only donning a double role for this outing, but is also a generator, yes, you read that right. Confusions and mayhem arise early on as he and Varun Sharma’s character struggle to make sense of the crossfires happening around them, with people either blaming them for something mysterious or claiming that they’ve met them before, while they stay clueless.

With this release, Shetty plans to take us all “back in time” and hit us with a nostalgic blockbuster, establishing his own version of the multiverse, or in this case, the Shetty-verse. The final moment of the trailer is something you can’t miss out on, and we won’t spoil it for you, so check out the trailer below to find out what we’re talking about. Just hinting at a familiar whistle is able to transport you to Shetty’s old classics that most of us have grown old watching.

Those who’ve watched the aforementioned titles that inspired the upcoming Hindi movie would already get the gist of the story, and even the trailer itself is quite revealing in its tone and with how it unveils the acting squad. Various actors like Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwary, Vrajesh Hirjee, Siddarth Jadhav, Vijay Patkar and more, who’ve acted in the filmmaker’s golden releases like the Golmaal franchise, All The Best, Dilwaale, Singham, etc are also featured in his new film, taking the nostalgic factor a notch higher.
