Now down a couple of episodes, MONSTA X’s Hyungwon variety show Mr Chae the Castaway has crossed the Chaessi Pyolgugi Episode 8 (채씨표류기) off its list by welcoming TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Choi Soobin on the healing vacation show’s latest entry that released on October 20, 2023. Also known as Chaessi Pyolyugi, the series has previously made room for some of the most well known K-pop stars from the music industry like SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and ASTRO’s Sanha.
This time travelling to an amusement park, the two K-pop idols with the same MBTI – INFP – bonded over their few-worded companionship that eventually blossomed into a chaotic heartwarming union. Not only are the two stars some of the most visually attractive celebs from the K-pop arena, their genuine vibe and authenticity has often won over fans and also non-fans who are new to this sphere.
From buying matching goofy headbands together to sporting them during their amusement park getaway while going for thrilling rides that make one’s heart race, the duo is a surprise blessing we never knew we needed to join forces like this. TXT Soobin even joked around about how he was scared of Hyungwon after seeing his old clip from No Mercy (survival audition show through which MONSTA X members debuted) days when he pretended to be angry at one of his former fellow competition mates.
With his younger brother persona, Soobin also expressed his desire to get close to Hyungwon after MONSTA X warmly greeted him during a Music Bank shoot when he was one of the MCs for the music program. He particularly held Hyungwon close to his memory owing to how the elder fellow K-pop star affectionately treated him.
The show maintains its therapeutic essence, and seeing the two singers dive into in-depth affectionate conversations with each other is truly a soft sight that has left us wanting more such alliances in the future. Yet again, the soft-hearted, mellow interactions have been balanced with light-hearted comical moments that only sought to put a smile on our faces.

MONSTA X Hyungwon Military Enlistment News
In another news, the Hyungwon enlistment letter was also shared on fancafe, alerting MONBEBEs (fandom) of the singer’s upcoming departure from the K-pop scene for a while. His duties are set to commence as an active-duty soldier on November 14, 2023, which will allow him to be discharged on May 13, 2025, a day before his group’s tenth anniversary, an event fans are looking forward to since all members will be reunited then post their military stints.

In the next episode of the healing variety series, Hyungwon and Xiumin will be seen together, rejuvenating and resting up at a sauna. The MONSTA X member and the EXO singer recently also starred in the CEO-dol Mart or Boss-dol Mart K-drama together, so this will mark their onscreen reunion after having become close friends through the weekly TVING Korean drama broadcast.
