Bloodhounds Season 2 Ending Explained

The season opens with Gun-woo and Woo-jin continuing on their quest to make the former a boxing champion; however, unbeknownst to them, there is a formidable new enemy who has his sights on Gun-woo, who is loved and celebrated by fans worldwide. Im Baek-jeong, running an underground boxing organisation called IKFC, desperately wants to get Gun-woo to fight with him so that he can get his business forward. Gun-woo, of course, isn’t interested, although Baek-jeong refuses to stop in any way, going to any lengths to get the champion in his ring.

As a result, his friends and family, including detectives Hong Min-beom and Min Kang-yong, band together to protect him and his family. Unfortunately, it results in a lot of people getting injured, much to Gun-woo’s heartbreak.

Does Gun-woo fight against Baek-jeong?

Gun-woo, although unwilling to fight at first, has to do it to protect his mother, whom Baek-jeong is constantly targeting. He fights against him twice, and the first time, he is left gravely injured, but alive. Thankfully, he takes it as a learning experience and learns how to defeat an ambidextrous fighter like Baek-jeong. The second time, he willingly goes against Baek-jeong so that the police can take this opportunity to save his mother, and he defeats him fair and square in a bloody and relentless battle.

What happens to Baek-jeong in the end?

The police band together to nab Baek-jeong, who has, by then, made himself an enemy to all. He doesn’t have any option but to try to flee to Thailand, but after being defeated by Gun-woo, he is arrested. In the middle of his transport, NIS officers Choi Shin-hyeong and Seul-gi kidnap him and take him in for questioning. The two have been working together with Min-beom, and eventually sent a photo to him proving that they have killed him.

Is Bloodhounds Season 3 a possibility?

In a surprising twist, it turns out that the encounter was all a farce. Shin-hyeong threatens to kill Baek-jeong if he doesn’t give up the name of his contact in Thailand, who is about to traffic a ton of drugs into Korea. Without any option, he tells him Paichit Chaichana’s name, and Shin-hyeong, in return, asks him to work with them and be their “bloodhound.”

This indicates that a third season might just be a possibility, as, with Baek-jeong free, Gun-woo might still be in trouble. Will Chaichana come after him thanks to Baek-jeong? Will he fight against the injustice heading his way? Since Baek-jeong’s storyline is kept open, the possibility is always there.
