Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 2 Recap

The situation at the Royal Palace is dire, with a powerful tremor shaking the entire area, signalling a major event. This tremor not only rattled the Soul Society, but it also reverberated through Hueco Mundo and the human world. Just as this occurs, Ichigo and his allies arrive in time to prevent Yhwach from killing the Soul King.
What follows is an intense battle between Ichigo and Yhwach, with Yhwach attempting to persuade Ichigo to join him. Throughout the fight, we see the extent of Ichigo’s strength, enhanced by his training with Squad Zero. In the past, very few were able to stand against Yhwach, let alone land a meaningful blow, but Ichigo manages to deal significant damage, showcasing his newfound abilities. Yet, it soon becomes clear that Yhwach hasn’t even tapped into the full power of his eyes during the fight.

Ichigo seems like the only one capable of stopping Yhwach, as the other key Soul Society figures are preoccupied. Ukitake is focused on healing Zaraki, Urahara is working on a plan to defeat Yhwach, and, for reasons unknown, Shunsui heads off to meet Aizen.
At this point, the responsibility of protecting the Soul King rests solely on Ichigo’s shoulders. But he was used to slay the King himself.
Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 3 Review And Recap

In this episode, we see many things, some good things, some sad things, and some exceptional things. Firstly, I must admit that it was great to see Captain Ukitake get the type of attention he deserves in this episode. Most of the time, we do not see much of this white-haired sick captain, but here, we dive deep into his history. Not only that, but he also becomes the only reason that might give the Soul Society a one-in-a-million chance to win against Yhwach after the Soul King perished.
Ukitake has been a frail child from the very beginning. But his parents’ relentless prayers to a deity called Mimihagi Sama proved fruitful enough, and he was saved. However, his illness never really left him, making him sickly throughout his life. It was apparent that he had somehow become deeply connected to this God, and there would come a time when he would have to bear the burden of getting the life he was not supposed to.

Here, we also see his growing periods and his budding friendship with Kyoraku, who also knew a bit about the lore of Mimihagi Sama. Apparently, there is a rumour that a part of the divine power of the Soul King got detached and fell from the heavens. Mimihagi, which looks like a right hand, thus represents the right hand of the Soul King that controls stillness. Perhaps, since then, Ukitake knew that if the Soul King ever needed the power of his right hand back, he would have to step forward.
But this episode did not just end with him. We also see the unsealing of a beloved character whose arrival has been anticipated by many fans. Sensing the dire situation of the Soul Society, Captain Kyoraku managed to move the Central 46 into considering getting help from the devil himself. But, will the destroyer step up to become the protector that Soul Society desperately needs?

Verdict
Today’s episode was absolutely brilliant as we move back and forth and discover more about Captain Ukitake. It’s unfortunate that he’s receiving recognition at a moment when we may never witness him in action again. I’m especially thrilled about the arrival of Aizen and love how he exudes raw power even now, that too in his sealed form.
