The little brother among The Big Three has risen again, as Bleach is back to claim its spot as a shonen legend. Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Episode 10 is the tenth episode of the final arc of Bleach, an action, fantasy, and supernatural anime directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and based on an original manga written by Tite Kubo. The episode is also known as Bleach TYBW Episode 10 and Bleach Sennen Kessen-hen Episode 10.
The series is based in a world where spirits are guided towards the afterlife by a group of protectors named “Soul-Reapers”. They are their sole defence against various other negative aspects of souls, such as the corrupted hollows, the powerful Arrancars, and bad Soul Reapers out to destroy the balance of the world. Speaking of Balance, the latest season revolves around Quincies, the natural enemy of the Soul Reapers, and their war against the entire soul society.
Bleach Thousand Year Blood War sees our favourite substitute Soul-reaper, Ichigo Kurosaki, alongside all of his friends and the entirety of the Soul Reaper force from the Soul Society, go up against the Quincy King. He has come to fulfil the prophecy of being the one to put an end to the war between the two rival forces and erase the reapers from this universe forever. This is the hardest challenge Ichigo has ever faced. Let’s see if he comes out on top!

It is all very clear for this episode, as both of the plotlines have been set up very well by the previous episode. The first of them involves Ichigo and Renji, coincidentally both characters who have lost their Bankai at some point, meeting the man who created the very first Zanpakuto itself, Oh-etsu Nimaiya. The other half involves one of the most popular characters in the show dying over and over again to someone he respects the most in his life. There seems to be a disparity in these stories, but we’ll ignore that.

Kenpachi Zaraki, one of the strongest characters in the show, got bullied and beaten by a character whom we would never expect such violence from. Not only that, but she did it without even having to show him the extent of her full powers. This is the power of Yachiru Unohana, the first Kenpachi. Oh-etsu is also a highly interesting character, having been the only Squad Zero member we haven’t heard speak in the show. Having invented the Zanpakuto, he has a lot more up his sleeve.

Ichigo and Renji appear to be recovered inside Tenjiro’s hot water steams and move on to their next meeting with another Squad Zero member, Kirio Hikifune. The meeting appears to be one full of nourishment and fulfilment as they prepare to take on their biggest training arc yet. Meanwhile, the newly appointed Squad 1 Captain, Shunsui Kyuraku, takes some drastic measures to ensure that the soul society survives its next encounter with the Quincies, one that involves the meeting of the two Kenpachis.
