Bet Review: Gambling That Captivates the Audience Like Never Before

Bet Review: Netflix has taken up another anime live-action adaptation, Kakegurui, and it is just as captivating as the original story it is based on. The series knows how to hook the audience with its intriguing plot, while the actors bring in a charm that only makes this better. However, fans of the original may hold some different opinions on the show as it includes a diverse cast taking over the story.

The plot of the series follows a gambling genius and transfer student who enrolls in a prestigious school where gambling decides your status quo. With everything at stake, the student goes around messing up the set system while showing her eccentric personality that isn’t easy to melt. As things get more complicated, it turns out that her real goal in this school is something more than what she shows.

Based on the popular Japanese manga, Kakegurui, this series already has a standard set for viewers. However, when watching this show, you will realise that there is something different about this version of the plot, which hooks you into watching all 10 episodes of the show. Luckily, these episodes aren’t too long, plus the bonus of the plot only makes these episodes disappear too fast. Netflix has chosen the right story to take up this time, and I am quite satisfied with this version of the manga.

Surely, it doesn’t sit well with many fans of the show that a non-Japanese cast plays the iconic characters on this show. We already have a live-action version for that, so when it comes to Netflix’s version, I have to say that it is quite captivating. I especially love the performance put together by the cast, mainly Miku Martineau, who puts on a fabulous portrayal of Yameko. The craziness in her expressions that change so fast whenever a scene demands it is especially captivating to the audience. You will love these scenes in particular, as her smooth transitions leave you stunned.

But while Miku’s performance leaves you in awe, the same cannot be said for the rest of the cast. There are some who have performed just as well as Miku, but not everyone can capture their character to the fullest. You can pinpoint these performances, but also move on from them soon after. Coming to the visuals of the show, they are also just as wonderfully done, giving you the best of everything that the show has to offer. It is a gambling world in this series, and you will find yourself in the middle of this thrilling field.

Finally, the plot of the series is just as good as everything else. It isn’t just good for fans of the original, international audience, and so on, but also for those who have never come across anything related to this plot. It captivates everyone and can prove to be a good watch for the whole group.
