– All the Places Review Does Not Contian Spoilers –
Ah, the different facets of sibling relationships. You love them, you hate them, but it’s damn difficult to ignore them. All the Places is another story about siblings, love and forgiveness that starts from the heartbreak of losing a family member and moves on to finding yourself and fulfilment.
However, the path to happiness isn’t an easy one, and All the Places is littered with speed bumps on the way in the form of extremely long dialogues that serve as exposition into Gabriela and Fer’s life. Thankfully, the adventure starts soon enough and without too much convincing, and you’re immediately catapulted into their lives further.

The movie tries to be a somewhat lively portrayal of the lives of two out-of-touch siblings. Of course, they get over their hangups and hash their issues out, as one would expect in such a movie. The overall feel of the movie is rather convenient, and things just happen very easily and very out of the blue. But, then again, this is a fun little movie that you watch to keep your mind off things.
Moreover, the jokes and the funny situations are really mediocre. I mean, there’s a situation where a guy Gabriela fancies brings out a glass ball and acts all weird with it as if he’s having an orgasm. It was funny the first time I watched it in some other movie, but now it’s just really cringy. The emotional discussions between the siblings are quite sweet to watch, though, and as we learn more things about them, you do feel yourself being drawn to their relationship.
Their discussions are rather tender and sometimes do touch your heart. But the movie doesn’t have that oomph factor – it’s not really an adventure film, and it’s not fully an emotional drama either. It’s somewhere in the middle, which feels a bit odd sometimes and just a smidge confusing. That being said, I think the situations they get in make sense for their journey and give birth to some sweet moments.

All the Places looks absolutely stunning though, and Gabriela and Fernando’s adventures look breathtaking thanks to the cinematography. The beautiful mountains and quaint towns which help the siblings bond and figure out things about themselves are just so beautiful that you want to leave everything and move to the mountains ASAP.
The ending of All the Places is warm and fuzzy but feels just a bit abrupt. Things taper off suddenly, but at least the last scene makes sense and leaves you feeling rather hopeful for the future. As the movie ends, thus, you feel a little confused about what to feel about this 97-minute watch. The fact that the drama-comedy film doesn’t feel particularly funny won’t be lost on anyone.
Summing Up: All the Places

All the Places is an ok watch that is more emotional than adventurous and, unfortunately, doesn’t add anything new to the table that you haven’t previously seen. But its emotional notes are on-point sometimes and will make you feel just a little heavy sometimes.
All the Places is streaming on Netflix.
