Cassandra Ending Explained
The series starts with Samira and her family moving to a new house and starting over. The family has recently faced a heavy tragedy in which Samira’s sister ended her life at their house and her body was discovered by Juno, Samira’s young daughter. It has been a traumatising ordeal that the family is trying to get over and thus she wanted a new house with a character and soul to start over. They were, unfortunately, not aware of the smart home system that takes care of the home and is present everywhere.
Fynn turns it on in the basement and from then on, Cassandra becomes an integral part of the house. However, the AI system has bigger goals than just helping with menial tasks. It starts with small things like “accidentally” injuring Samira with a rock. Soon after, though, it starts to do horrifying but subtle things that only Samira is able to clock. Samira starts to notice that Cassandra is trying to alienate her from her family and is trying to take her family by making her look crazy in front of them.

Although she tries very hard to keep her family together, in the end, after a very shocking incident where Cassandra locks Juno’s friend on the stove, Samira is taken to a mental health facility because everyone believes that she tried to harm Emily on purpose. It doesn’t help that previously they had turned Cassandra off, so technically she couldn’t mess with the stove. Unfortunately, Fynn shares too late that Steve had faced something similar with Cassandra when she threatened him to stay away from Flynn.
Just then, Cassandra takes over the house and locks the family in. With Samira gone, she claims the family as her own without any fear. The family have no way to get out of the situation as the robot holds all the cards. It forces everyone to go to their rooms and locks them in.
What is Cassandra’s Story?

The robot Cassandra is based on a real woman who was alive in the 1970s. Cassandra Schmitt loved her family and dedicated her life to them. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when she lost her second child while her husband tried an experimental process to determine the gender, which resulted in a stillbirth. Add to that realising that her husband has been cheating on her with her friend, along with his mistreatment of their son Peter, whose hobbies Horst disagreed with.
Mistreated and ignored by everyone she loves, she ends up getting cancer because of Horst’s experiment that exposed her to radiation, she becomes bitter and forces Horst to transfer her memories into a computer so that she can live on after her body dies. The experiment turns out to be a success but the new normal is odd to Peter, who, after seeing his mother’s dead body, doesn’t recover from the shock.

Eventually, Cassandra completely loses her computer mind and tries to keep everyone tied to the house and to her. Horst eventually turns her off and brings Birgit and their son to live at the house. That’s when it turns out that the off switch that Horst had added was a dummy planned by Cassandra when she was alive. As she tries to kill the baby, Horst takes everyone out of the house and drives off but Peter has a change of heart and tries to get out of the moving car which causes an accident that kills all of them.
Cassandra Episode 6
In the last episode, we are taken to 1965 when it turns out that Cassandra had given birth to a second child but after being exposed to such high levels of radiation, she was born with several deformities. Horst convinces Cassandra to keep the baby a secret and the latter can’t help but agree with her husband. Meanwhile, in the present, Samira calls home and gets a very cold response from David who is being threatened by Cassandra to not spill anything.

David and Fynn come up with an idea to let David out of the house but with his children trapped at home, there’s really not a lot that he can do. However, he does talk to Emily’s friend while Samira finally gets Juno’s messages but isn’t able to prove to the nurse anything because Cassandra makes her lie to her mother. Later, however, Samira follows her gut and goes back home but Cassandra threatens David to kill her. The fighting takes her to Cassandra’s second kid’s room where she finds her dead body. Samira begs Cassandra to not kill her because the children would never love her if she tried to force it on the kids.
Cassandra eventually relents, telling her that David knew that she would never hurt the kids, indicating that he hurt her because he wanted to, not because he was forced. Cassandra eventually burns the house down as the family runs out to safety.
