TWS Last Festival MV Review: A Graduation Song Filled with Youthful and Cheery Energy

On November 25th, South Korean Boyband TWS released their first single album Last Bell along with the music video of their title track Last Festival (마지막 축제). The track is filled with youthful energy as it combines energy with the sadness of saying goodbye to one’s school days that come to an end when the last bell on the last day rings. A beautiful song that is filled with nostalgia, sadness, and a goodbye that is said in a cheerful way.

The band debuted earlier this year on 22 January 2024 and has released multiple projects within one year. This is the band’s third project and their first single album which consists of three tracks- Last Festival, Highlight, and Comma. The title track is a reinterpretation of Seo Taiji and Boys’ 1993 song of the same name but comes with a touch that makes it different from the original.

With this, let’s begin with the music video review.

The song begins with a cheery tone which is exciting and catches your attention right from the beginning. Filled with memories of school that are nostalgic, happy and sad, the song brings a relatable vibe that is hard to miss. And if this isn’t enough, the song has a chorus that is just too addictive and hard to resist.

The energy with which the song flows has a very youthful vibe which makes the listener unable to look away. The way in which the whole music video plays out is something that is unique and has a charm that makes you understand why the band won the Rookie Awards at the MAMA this year. They are simply too good and know how to carry a vibe that is irresistible to the listeners who come across their music.

TWS is filled with talented members and they are all playing by rules set up by them which only further adds to their charm and makes the listener mesmerised by their charm. They have a theme and they are going along with it as far as they can, making the listener feel fulfilled and satisfied with the music presented to them.

Meanwhile, the choreography that begins right from the start further enhances this youthful energy and brings about a magic that has me enchanted. The way this theme of graduation and saying goodbye to our school days has been presented is something that cannot be done by just anyone. TWS has done it and they’ve done it right, bringing a touch of excitement to this very theme that has been making people cry with nostalgia for years now.

Moving on, the colours in the song brought in a soft touch to the overall theme which goes with the vibe that the band has been going for. While the plotline of the video makes you see the puppy love and first heartbreak scenes that are kept deep within one’s heart even years after graduation. Again, this brings about the relatable side of the song that is hard to miss out on because of how clearly it has been presented.

Finally, we come to the members themselves who have presented us with such a magical song that I’m having a hard time getting over. They have each carried the song with a charm exuded uniquely by the members individually and there is no way to deny the magic they have brought about. This song really makes one want to check out their other songs and the performances given by this newly debuted group who have already surprised Kpop fans everywhere.
