WayV FREQUENCY MV Review: Exciting Music with Mystic Vibes That Are Irresistible

On November 25th, South Korean Boyband WayV released their sixth mini album FREQUENCY along with the music video of the title track of the same name. After the energetic pre-release MV, the track brings another round of excitement among fans who love the title track. The old-school hip-hop style with the heavy bass and strong drum beats is the combination that comes along with addictive hooks that make you play the song on a loop.

Frequency is the band’s sixth mini album and consists of six tracks including the title track of the same name in two versions, High Five, Twist, Filthy Rich, and Call Me. While the mini album has been highly anticipated among fans, they are also sad that the member Winwin will not be participating in this comeback due to his filming schedule in China.

With this, let’s begin with the music video review!

WayV FREQUENCY MV Review

The video starts off with the members in a darker look as they smoothly take you to the chorus where the dance break keeps you on your toes. The scene then becomes lighter where the hip-hop notes aren’t just heard but you can see the members carrying the vibes with their costumes. Finally, the last part of the song returns to the dark- black and red colours which once again bring out the dangerous look of the members who are ready to take you to another dimension by having you tune into their frequency.

The song is filled with such energy that you are unable to take your eyes off the members, their dance, their expressions, and the video as a whole. You will be staring right into the video so try to remember to blink. The vibe is carried throughout the video and keeps the audience hooked as the video smoothly progresses step by step, calling out for everyone to tune into the frequency of the band’s music.

Coming to the smooth progression of the video, the cinematography is truly mystical yet exciting and intriguing as you are pulled into the different themes presented to you. The camerawork is interesting as it flows through the scenes, be it dark or light, without leaving a moment’s distraction for the audience. You know the camerawork is good when you are unable to look away from a music video, and this song is a good example of this.

Meanwhile, the choreography is top-notch. It is smooth, fitting, exciting, and so energetic that you are unable to stop yourself from trying to learn the steps. It will bring you to your toes as you try to mimic the steps that are so synchronised on screen. The steps are truly wonderful and fresh, as it fits well with everything that the song holds.

And when it comes to the song itself, the lyrics hold a power that makes you want to check out the whole album as soon as possible. It has this energy while telling you a story that you don’t want to miss out on at any time. The song is a beautiful mix of many different elements and it has come out so beautifully that you are unable to deny the magic that it holds.

Finally, the members of the band have once again delivered everything their fans could’ve asked for with another dose of breathtaking visuals. Every time the focus fell on the visuals, we knew that a moment was needed for us all before we could move on with the song. The members have all performed this song extremely well and I’m looking forward to more content from the band.
