Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 2 Recap

It picks up right where Subaru, after suffering a horrific death at the hands of Sirius, the Sin Archbishop of Wrath, is thrown back in time. Trying to maintain his composure, Subaru reassures Emilia and the others that everything is fine. He is well aware that involving Emilia could once again make her a target, as was the case when he had to deal with Petelgeuse.

Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 3 Review

Subaru initially attempts to save the boy on his own, hoping to act before Sirius reappears. However, things don’t go as planned, and Subaru meets a grisly, brutal demise. Upon returning to life, Subaru analyzes the situation, contemplating his next move and who might be strong enough to defeat Sirius without falling victim to her mind control.

After numerous attempts, Subaru eventually decides on Emilia, who drastically shifts the battle’s dynamics. She relentlessly attacks Sirius, overpowering her in the beginning, but, later, when she struggles against her, Regulus comes to save her.

Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 3 Review

Today, we had many things to see in this episode, and a lot more mysteries were presented to us. At first, we see Regulus kidnapping Emilia, claiming that she is his bride, whom he wants to marry. This sort of confession out of nowhere shocks Subaru and Beatrice alike, who are equally confused about the entire situation. Even the interaction that Subaru has with Regulus proves just how much of a madman Regulus is. When Subaru tries to counterquestion him about his intentions, he becomes agitated because Subaru did not bother to introduce himself when Regulus did in the beginning. He goes on rambling about how Subaru is violating his rights as a human by not adhering to proper decorum.

As if one insane was not enough, we see Sirius, the Sin Archbishop representing Wrath, claiming crazier things. When she witnesses Subaru using his version of the authority of sloth, she confuses him as Petelgeuse and starts to vehemently confess her love for him. Apparently, she has this delusion that Petelgeuse loved her, and since then, she has developed an unhealthy obsession with him.

Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 3 Review

Not just here, trouble was brewing all around the city of Priestella as two more Sin Archbishops revealed themselves. Later, we get to know that now the witch cult got hold of four control towers. From there, they can easily open floodgates and drown the entire city. This is a grave situation as the city they are in is at risk, plus Emilia also got kidnapped by Regulus. How Subaru will manage to get her back and save everyone is something that we will have to look forward to.

Today’s episode was also very emotional because we dive deep into the past of Garf. Here, we understand how he was abandoned by his mother at a young age when she promised to go on a search for her husband and never returned. Garf gets forced to relieve those emotions, and it definitely takes us on a sentimental and tragic trip down memory lane.

Verdict

Today’s episode was really entertaining as many things happened all at the same time. We can see that bad times are coming for our hero, and the trouble has just begun. I also love that we are not just focusing on the main hero and heroine of the anime but also on supporting characters.
