Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 3 Recap
This episode delved deeply into Alya’s past, revealing her younger self. The episode begins with the introduction of Alya’s elder sister, Masha, who speaks fluent Japanese and teases Alya about the boy she likes at school. Alya denies it but can’t help thinking about Masachika and their first meeting.
A flashback shows young Alya struggling to connect with her peers in Russia. She is diligent and meticulous, but her seriousness isolates her, especially during group projects. This experience leads her to rely solely on herself, as she believes no one else takes things seriously.

This attitude follows Alya to Japan, where she encounters Masachika, a notorious slacker who sleeps through classes and avoids work. Her initial impression of him is negative. However, this changes when Masachika unexpectedly helps her prepare for their cultural festival.
The episode highlights Alya’s difficulty in connecting with others and expressing her true feelings. Although she acts tough, she is actually sweet and soft-hearted. Those who know her recognize her as a classic tsundere. Fortunately, Masachika’s outgoing personality makes it easier for him to connect with Alya, despite his otaku tendencies.
Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 4 Review

Today’s episode was again filled with comedy but also some heart-thumping moments. Our hero is seen coming back with Masha from their shopping spree. The student council president seeing Kuze, starts to pester him about joining the council because of his past records and his reliability. Kuze used to be the student council vice president in his junior high school and has been known as a prodigy. Hence, it is beyond people, as to why he does not want to continue his legacy in his high school. I believe there is some sort of traumatic history behind his newfound disdain for this job.
After this, Kuze, along with us, gets to know that Alya has gone for an important job. Apparently, the baseball club and the soccer club are fighting to play at the school grounds. Both teams have very important occasions coming up and none of them want to leave the opportunity. Alya, who is not very good at speaking with others, is definitely not the right choice of person, as a mediator. Kuze knows this and perhaps that is why he goes to inspect the situation.

He even decided not to meddle and just return after assessing the problem. However, when he hears Alya asking for help in Russian, he cannot help but pitch in. He gives a brilliant solution to both their problems and even manages to pacify all the members. After this, he even decides to be a member of the student council so that he can support Alya becoming the new president.
However, he also gets a mighty slap on his cheek when Alya catches him thinking about another girl in her presence. Do not worry she soothes his pain with a kiss.
Today’s episode was again a very good romcom example and I like that even the hero is aware of his role as the protagonist. Alya has finally accepted that she is in love with Kuze. Yes, she said I like you in Russian, knowing that Kuze would not understand. But alas we know how wrong she is!

Verdict
I love that Alya is being open with her feelings. She is not revealing her heart in front of others, but at least she is being honest in Russian. Hopefully, we will see romance in future episodes among our protagonists. Watch new episodes on Crunchyroll.
