Trolley episode 11 starts with Hye-joo coming face-to-face with the consequences of the media getting to know what happened to her in the past… or so they want us to think. Hye-joo has a horrible nightmare about her worst fears, giving us the name of the episode.
However, she eventually does face the discomfort of more people knowing such intimate details about her, including two of Joong-do’s colleagues, who thank her for making such a brave decision. Interestingly, Hye-joo realises that Joong-do has manipulated her into giving her consent, considering he had told his office workers before asking her permission to write a statement about the incident.

She doesn’t waste any time confronting Joong-do, though, and he looks rather uncomfortable after being caught in a lie. To his credit, he accepts that he had already made up his mind because he feared that someone or the other would’ve leaked it anyway, and that would be a worse scandal. He simply wanted to be prepared. But Hye-joo doesn’t take his apology and asks him what he would’ve done if she had refused.
Joong-do’s answer is sincere and quite honest and leaves Hye-joo at a loss for words. Either way, Joong-do apologises again for getting ahead of himself and letting the fear get to him before asking for permission first.
Meanwhile, Yoo-sin and Soon-hong get into a little spat as they wonder what to do if the truth about their shady real estate deal comes to light. Soon-hong is annoyed and wants her to lie low, especially since the election is just around the corner. However, what really perks her ears up is when he mentions that Hye-joo, Joong-do’s wife, is responsible for her son’s death.

Later, Hye-joo gets a sudden phone call from Ki-young, who asks to meet her out of the blue. She is surprised but agrees regardless. At her office, Ki-young apologises to Hye-joo for her comments earlier and mentions how he wants Seung-hee to see her mother for who she really is. She asks him to think it through since Seung-hee would definitely be very hurt, but he doesn’t care – he wants his wife to break free and be happy.
As Ki-young leaves Hye-joo’s, though, Yoo-sin finds him standing by the side of the road with her and loses her grip on reality. She hits her son-in-law and slaps Hye-joo, again calling her a murderer and then drives off, promising never to let them get away with it. After they leave, Hye-joo has a mental breakdown in her office.
Yoo-sin later gets into an accident.
On the other hand, Soo-bin tries to get her phone back from her pimp friend (or something), and after getting her phone, he tells her about meeting Hye-joo and asks her why she went to stay at Ji-hoon’s. She tells him a few lies, wondering whether he knows about her pregnancy. He, too, tells her some nasty lies about Hye-joo not wanting her to come back and stuff, which really upsets her.

In the meantime, Hye-joo calls Joong-do and lets him know what has been happening with Yoo-sin and Ki-young. He promises to take care of the mess and asks her to go home immediately. On the other hand, Soo-bin asks her friend for a breakup (so I guess that makes her his boyfriend and not pimp), and Yeo-jin desperately tries to sell her restaurant in a bid to get away from very troubling situations.
As the bill passing goes nowhere between Joong-do and Soon-hong, Soo-bin realises that her boyfriend has been busy with her debit card and has been moving money around through it. Meanwhile, Ki-young takes Yoo-sin to the hospital, who seems to be quite injured but isn’t critical.
Later, Ki-young calls and tells Joong-do that he won’t be handing over the evidence as previously promised and tells him about the accident. Woo-jae immediately springs into action after the phone call ends and looks into where Yoo-sin has been hospitalised. At home, Joong-do tells Hye-joo about Ki-young’s decision and pushes his wife to go on TV to tell everyone about the incident.
Hye-joo refuses to do so and expresses how she is scared of the aftermath and pushes him to do a press release simply. However, Joong-do mentions that people need to see her sincerity since there is no proof of anything, and her telling everyone will have more impact than only him talking about it.

Interestingly, they tell Yoon-seo everything, and she also weighs in on going to TV and telling the truth, assuring her mother that she didn’t do anything wrong. Either way, her daughter’s resolve gives her the strength to take the big step finally.
Meanwhile, Woo-jae subtly threatens Ki-young outside the hospital and tells him that if he doesn’t hand the evidence over, he will tell Seung-hee himself about their arrangement. Hye-joo, in the meantime, asks for time from Joong-do to think about going on TV.
The next morning, Joong-do’s past continues to face flak in front of the public as he goes on a radio interview. It’s a rather awkward conversation, but one that he tries to take care of with as much grace as possible. Right afterwards, he gets a shocking phone call that he later relays to his wife – Ji-hoon had sexually assaulted someone, and we see Soo-bin reporting him at a police station.
Trolley Episode 11 Review

The problem with Trolley is that it’s really trying to do something with its storyline, but it’s just so plain bland that it’s becoming difficult to keep the mystery alive. I can almost see what is going to happen after this, but the way it is being presented in the episodes is just failing to hold onto any sort of interest.
Plus, our protagonist, Hye-joo, is just so passive that you won’t be able to understand what to do with her. She is headstrong about what happened to her in the past sometimes, but right after that, she cowers in front of one of her abusers. It’s just so odd. I get it, she has trauma from her past. But, like, come on. It’s not great to watch someone who constantly second-guesses herself and blames herself for the injustice that happened to her.
Plus, what is happening? Like, for real – where is this drama going? Joong-do doesn’t seem to be a bad guy, he has his ambitions, but that’s ok. There’s probably nothing happening between Soo-bin and him, but then again, it feels like they know more than what they are giving away. At this point, this is going to be more interesting than the druggie son sexually assaulting someone. Ji-hoon wasn’t a good guy, so why are we surprised here, really?
Either way, Trolley is losing steam pretty fast. Let’s hope the next episode comes with something mildly interesting.
Trolley is streaming on Netflix.
