The new production film of J-hope’s instalment of BTS’ Special 8 Photo-Folio project, All New Hope, will leave you roaring in joy, and will ascribe a new meaning to one of the most famous moments of SUGA screaming “J-HOOOOPE”. The South Korean music act managed by HYBE labels has already come out with the portfolio editions for members RM, JIN, Jimin, V and Jungkook, along with the group version. With only two members left to complete septet, the beloved Jack in the Box rapper is next in line.

A new video has surfaced on the group’s official YouTube channel that shares a behind-the-scenes footage of him preparing and discussing the matter with the off-stage crew members that bring the magic alive for the fans on screen. The ’94 liner songwriter, who’s also been claimed to be the dance leader of the group, sports a “dangerous-looking pose” for his forthcoming Photo-Folio, through which he seeks to establish a new persona for himself, one that stands in stark contrast with his “hopeful, colourful and street-like vibe”.
As seen leading the conversations in the production film, the singer pitches an endless list of ideas to the team, which soon take form and colour in a dark theme that is likely to shock the members and fans alike. ARMY (collective name for the fandom) has already witnessed the prolific dancer don a similar image in his solo studio album Jack in the Box, an old-school hip-hop EP, through which J-hope broke the pre-existing musical mould that became synonymous with his identity.
The official log-line describing what the Photo-folios represent goes as follows, “This photo-folio is a quintessentially BTS collection that brings together the seven members’ ideas and catalogs their memories together as a group. This photo-folio is a visualisation of the past and the present of BTS!”

A previously teased preview of the member’s Photo-Folio had even his fellow bandmates lose all calm and composure. While we’re obviously not ready for what’s cooking in store for us, we can’t wait to get our hands on the much-anticipated photo book either. Just when we thought our favourite artist couldn’t get any cooler, he went on to break his own record and proves us wrong once again. Will we be able to take the heat when the global K-pop act itself couldn’t endure its fellow counterpart’s panache? We all know the answer to this already.

As we desperately wait for the Photo-Folio to drop, let’s tune into the artist’s solo music on Spotify. Fans of the group who ‘bias’ him are anyway in for a treat with the rapper’s birthday (February 18) coming up along with his Disney+ Plus documentary, J-Hope in the Box, also set to premiere on February 17, 2023.
