The Interest of Love episode 2 starts with Su-yeong travelling to Seoul for the first time and getting her apartment, eventually securing a place at KCU Bank. We get the reasoning behind her annoyance with Sang-su here – why she was utterly fuming at the mere sight of him.

The night she was stood up on their date, she saw Sang-su running to meet her, and she looked genuinely excited. However, something she saw left her reeling and heartbroken.

Back in the present, Su-yeong and Jong-hyun share a flirty look as he helps her open the bank doors. Meanwhile, Sang-su is left annoyed after the conversation that he had with Su-yeong the other night. During the conversation, she asks him whether he is really apologising for being late, indicating that something else happened that night as well, for which Su-yeong is actually angry.

Either way, Sang-su is disturbed by the entire ordeal and gets blackout drunk with his friends after a hockey match. Either way, he goes to work the next morning, totally regretting the excessive drinking when he sees Su-yeong walking towards him from the opposite side. He immediately jumps into a nearby store so as not to be seen and buys coffee for the entire office.

Sang-su tries to talk to Su-yeong while handing her her drink, but she feigns ignorance when he brings the topic up, putting him in an awkward situation. Just then, a notice comes in from HR about a new colleague joining them. Meanwhile, new hire Mi-gyeong is getting a rather neat massage while her mother nags her not to work and take it easy by getting married to a good guy. However, Mi-gyeong seems to be steady in her resolve to work at the bank.

Later, the owner of Tongyeong Oyster Gukbap comes to the bank with rice cake to advertise his new store. There seems to be a coldness between the owner and Su-yeong, who completely ignores him and doesn’t acknowledge him at all. At lunch, Sang-su asks Gyeong-pil about Jong-hyun, but the latter shoots him down and teases him about his crush.

When a man decides to sprawl on the bank floor demanding his money back, everyone is confused about what to do about the mess. However, after finishing her work, Su-yeong sits down with the man on the floor until he feels ok enough to get up. Sang-su remembers the time when Su-yeong had helped him during his probation period and thus takes initiative and sits with her to help her. Eventually, everyone joins the two of them and the issue is resolved when the man finally has enough.

Afterwards, the entire office, for some reason, bullies Su-yeong into going on a blind date that she doesn’t want to go to. They badger her incessantly until she breaks, and Sang-su quietly listens in on the conversation from the other side of the door, waiting to hear what she says. When she gives in to the request, clearly to make them stop asking, he looks disappointed.

That night, after getting rather humiliated at the hands of his friends, Sang-su scores big when one of his rich “friends” promises to move his entire office’s banking to KCU Bank. He is celebrated as a hero by his boss, but the vibe fades off when Mi-gyeong makes an entrance look absolutely magical.

Everyone’s interest is immediately piqued, and they start to suck up to the new employee as soon as she sets foot. She, however, has her eyes out for everyone around her. Later, Sang-su and Mi-gyeong are asked to take up a task together, and that’s when she reminds him that they went to school together. Dinner plans are made, and Mi-gyeong can’t help but notice the vibes between Sang-su and Su-yeong.

That night, the two of them have a rather pleasant dinner together wherein they reminisce about old times, and she asks him whether he’s interested in the Goddess of Youngpo. He denies it, but their rather colourful discussion is caught by Su-yeong, who does not look pleased at the turn of events.

Either way, that night, both of them are left wondering about matters of the heart.

The next day, at lunch, everyone starts to tease Mi-gyeong and Sang-su, but he, unfortunately, only has eyes for Su-yeong, who immediately leaves when they start talking about their dating and getting married. Now overthinking, he catches her later and tells her that nothing is going on between him and Mi-gyeong. When she doesn’t respond, he asks her whether she will go on that blind date.

It’s a really awkward and uncomfortable discussion, which ends in her wishing him luck on dating Mi-gyeong. Sang-su continues to obsess over whether Su-yeong is really dating Jong-hyun when Gyeong-pil comes to his place to drink their sorrows away. Gyeong-pil reminds Sang-su to think about what he actually feels for her and whether he is actually serious about the relationship.

The Interest of Love Episode 2 Ending

As Su-yeong goes on her blind date, Sang-su rushes to get in touch with her, having made up his mind. Her date goes rather disastrous, and he makes the grand gesture of waiting in front of her house to tell her something. When she gets the message, she asks the driver to drive faster.

When she finally arrives, she runs off, with him following her. They are briefly separated by a car, and when it passes, Sang-su finds Su-yeong hugging Jong-hyun.

What a chaotic series this is turning out to be!

Each and every person in the series annoys me which is not something that I usually feel – every employee of KCU Yangpo is an absolute abomination who just likes to watch the world burn. Whenever people force Su-yeong into uncomfortable circumstances, I die a little bit inside.

That includes the others badgering her about her boyfriend or Sang-su cornering her and asking her whether she will go on the blind date. Not one person knows how to get a hint and constantly moans and complains about her. The bullying is just jarring to watch. Sang-su’s obsessive behaviour doesn’t help, and I am waiting and wondering whether they will somehow turn this crime scene in the making into a “cute” love story.

I might lose my mind if they do so. Mi-gyeong is the only pleasant character thus far. I hope they keep her as a nice influence on everyone.
