– Thai Cave Rescue Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –
Thai Cave Rescue is a retelling of true events that happened in 2018 wherein 13 young footballers and their coach got stuck in a cave thanks to heavy downpours and how they were successfully rescued. The series attempts to bring out the heart-thumping emotions and deep fear that everyone felt in such a horrible scenario.

The series has 6 episodes, with each episode being an hour-long, and first and foremost, I must mention that the runtime is simply too long. The incident brought forth several pieces of media focusing on the same thing, including Thirteen Lives, Cave Rescue and The Rescue, among others. With so many movies on the same topic, you’d expect creators to not focus on the same thing again, and that too in a longer format. I don’t understand the point of it exactly.
The 6 episodes get a bit much after a while, and you find yourself trying to skip through scenes. It’s also very dramatic, and I fail to understand why the creators would go this route. Sure, it’s a shocking situation, but the situations that were created in the series seemed extremely over the top and unnecessary. These moments will drag the runtime quite a bit and will make you feel rather bored.
Other than that, although Thai Cave Rescue looks great and creates a good atmosphere, there’s nothing new that the series brings forth. I guess people would rather watch a short movie than get into a dragged-out series on the same thing. It’s nice that the series starts with the rescue efforts and how the incident created a global impact, as well as giving different points of view. But that’s honestly not enough to make people sit through 6+ hours of content.

However, Thai Cave Rescue does get some of its emotional moments right, and you will feel sympathy and fear for the characters. These moments make the series a nice watch, and it will pull on your heartstrings to make it a hopeful and interesting watch. Plus, the hopelessness that the parents feel will tug at your heartstrings and make you want to hug your loved ones a bit more.
These moments make watching the show interesting. You feel for everyone in the situation, and considering this is a tragedy that everyone mostly knows about, you can relate the series with the original incident. The connection makes the series somewhat bearable and even, sometimes, thrilling and poignant. The series is not all bad, and these are the moments where Thai Cave Rescue truly shines.
Summing Up: Thai Cave Rescue

Thai Cave Rescue feels like an unnecessary addition that tackles the same incident. Sure, it has some sweet and heartwarming moments, and somewhere you are left clutching your chest. However, other than some likeable kids and thrilling moments, the series doesn’t justify its extremely long runtime.
Thai Cave Rescue is streaming on Netflix.

Fantastic movie…not too long as an in-depth story needed to be told..Rodger Corser demands respect!
I thought the film—Thirteen Lives—was emotionless. This told the story from the boys’ and their families’ perspective. It held me attention throughout. I never found any of it “boring.” It was much more heartfelt than the Ron Howard film. And I don’t think it was overly dramatic at all.
Not a moment was boring for me. The incident itself has been wildly publicised so nothing is too short if you are talking about just letting people know the ‘story’. However, what we do not already know is the perspective of the boys n their parents, the governor and rescue personnel. And I think it is appropriate to allow such run time to tell those stories properly.
