Big Mouth episode 14 starts with Chang-ho introducing himself to Chairman Kang while everyone around them looks at him with shock. Chang-ho, however, mentions that he needs the chairman’s help. That the new Big Mouse is out to get him and is using him to kill Chairman Kang when the opportunity arises – he even has his family held hostage.

Do-ha seems to be the only one who does not believe in him, while the chairman is intrigued by Chang-ho’s words and tells him to elaborate on what he’s saying. Chang-ho continues to tell the chairman about NK Chemicals and the link between radiation and leukaemia patients. He ends his piece with the fact that his and his family’s fates are now in his hands.

Chang-ho’s words impact the chairman, who really cannot understand what decision to take – rejecting him and accepting him both seem uncomfortable. The Chairman asks Chang-ho, after a brief discussion, what he wants, and Chang-ho asks him to make him the mayor. He will use his authority to wipe Big Mouse out and gives the chairman a list of people who work in Big Mouse’s organization as goodwill.

Chang-ho agrees to be a spy and find out Big Mouse’s identity if they give him an opportunity to prove himself. Do-ha, however, isn’t happy about the circumstances and makes it clear outside the chairman’s house. However, Chang-ho tells him that it’s in their best interests to get along and will make this easier for both of them. Unfortunately, Do-ha isn’t in the mood for these things and leaves Chang-ho’s handshake hanging.

Meanwhile, Mi-ho follows Kwang-yeon’s family and is shocked to learn that his mother has died. She, however, is left confused as to what is even going on with this family. At the same time, Chang-ho, Jerry and Soon-tae realise that they are being tailed by another car. Chang-ho, however, isn’t very concerned; he directs the others to let the car follow them; they will understand soon enough who is behind this.

It turns out that Do-ha is the one who sent out the car to tail Chang-ho. As he watches the video, he finds Yoon-gab’s expression rather interesting and contacts him later on to meet. After they do meet, Do-ha shows Yoon-gab the list that Chang-ho had given them earlier and asks him to work together since they both want the same thing – to get rid of Chang-ho.

On the other hand, Mi-ho and Gi-gwang find out that Choi Do-ha was the one who drowned in the river, and NK Chemical’s lab director Cho Hae-soo’s grandson Cho Sung-hyun changed his identity and became Do-ha in order to stay by the chairman’s side. Chang-ho immediately realizes that Do-ha wants revenge for his grandfather’s death – there can’t be any other reason.

Later, Gi-gwang, Soon-tae and Jerry are miffed to find that Chang-ho’s approval rating in the election is 7% – there’s no way he is going to win this election at this pace. They, however, are confused to find Yoon-gab in the building, who has come to talk to Chang-ho. The latter tells him to get Do-ha’s relative out of the nursing home quietly.

When Soon-tae and Jerry mention that they aren’t sure about Yoon-gab’s motivations, Chang-ho tells them to trust him. Otherwise, he won’t trust them either. However, jerry does follow them and gets bonked on the head in the process, after which Yoon-gab puts him in the trunk. On the other hand, Mi-ho and Chang-ho get ready for Chairman Kang’s birthday celebration when he gets a call from Yoon-gab.

He directs Mi-ho to go to the party before him and promises to tell her everything later – Chang-ho has to meet Yoon-gab first. At the party, Mi-ho looks absolutely awkward but takes the awkwardness in her stride. Meanwhile, Do-ha gets a call from Yoon-gab, who informs him that Chang-ho will die soon.

When he gets another call, later on, he gets a direct feed from Yoon-gab’s attempted murder of Chang-ho. At the same time, Jerry comes out of the car trunk and immediately calls Soon-tae and informs him that Yoon-gab has betrayed them. As the entire fleet makes their way to Chang-ho, he tries to tell Yoon-gab that Do-ha will betray him sooner or later.

However, Yoon-gab isn’t in the mood to listen to him and takes out his gun to end this once and for all. With Do-ha watching, Yoon-gab shoots Chang-ho as Jerry bears witness to the shocking killing. Do-ha, however, is quite happy with the way things work out. When Jerry tells Mi-ho this, she immediately goes to Do-ha and accuses him of killing her husband. Poor Mi-ho then falls unconscious as Do-ha leaves her fuming on the side of the road.

When Do-ha goes to meet Yoon-gab, the latter makes the mayor blabber about his plan to kill the chairman as well as his true identity. As it turns out, this was all a plan to get Do-ha to confess since it’s all being seen live by the chairman with Chang-ho sitting right next to him. Before leaving, Chang-ho asks the Chairman what he plans to do, and he informs him that he will take care of this his own way.

Do-ha immediately gets called to the Chairman’s home while Chang-ho goes to meet his wife in the hospital. Soon-tae is there as well, and he’s not happy with this impromptu plan without any notice. Anyway, he ends up telling Mi-ho the whole plan and how it came to be while Chairman Kang waits for Do-ha, who just promptly kills him off and then gets a hand on his will.

When Chang-ho and everyone else get to know on the news about his death the next day, they are left confused – the timing is too coincidental. Talks are also rife among Ji-hoon and his friends as they discuss whether Do-ha murdered him and who got how much in his will. When Chang-ho gets to the funeral to pay his respects, he tells Do-ha that he knows what he did and will expose him to the world soon.

Mi-ho, meanwhile, realizes suddenly that she might have leukaemia like Kwang-yeon as her gums start to bleed, and she suddenly has a nose bleed.

Big Mouth Episode 14 Review

Still From Big Mouth Episode 14

If they kill Mi-ho off, I think the entire internet is going to go into lockdown. Although Chang-ho dying in episode 14 was almost impossible, that was apparent from how theatrical Yoon-gab was being while murdering his new boss. However, Mi-ho’s affliction comes as a shock – I can accept of a lot of things, but getting cancer is something I did not expect.

I am interested to know how she got it, though – was she somehow experimented on without her knowing?

Anyway, I think Chang-ho’s mind games fit right into the storyline, and he plays them off so well that it’s great watching them. Although the chairman dying is definitely going to throw the game off, it’s still going to be interesting to watch how he gets out of this predicament.

I also like the small humorous moments in Chun-sik’s restaurant. With the amount of intensity that we see, these moments are adorable – who wouldn’t like watching Chun-sik whip up terrible food?

Also, Jerry is a sight for sore eyes. Just saying.

However, I personally felt like there were some moments that felt a bit too stretched out and could’ve been done away with. It’s not like these moments are unnecessary, but then just drone on for a bit too long that I felt was a bit unneeded. But regardless, it’s a thoroughly enjoyable episode that focuses on Chang-ho’s prowess as Big Mouse.

Check out the series on Disney+ and on MBC.
