Royalteen Part 2: Will Netflix Release a Sequel to the Young-Adult Drama?

Netflix dropped a romantic drama Royalteen on August 17. Directed by Per-Olav Sørensen and Emilie Beck and stars Ines Høysæter Asserson, Mathias Storhøi and Elli Müller Osborne. The Norwegian movie is based on Randi Fuglehaug and Anne Gunn Halvorsen’s novel titled Arvingen.

The synopsis reads,

“A TEENAGER STRUGGLES TO KEEP HER SCANDAL-RIDDEN PAST AND A BIG SECRET FROM GETTING OUT WHEN SHE STRIKES UP AN UNLIKELY ROMANCE WITH THE CROWN PRINCE.”

In the Netflix movie, we meet two interesting characters – Lena and Karl. It’s a royal love story, but there are secrets, obstacles and drama. All these elements make it an interesting and intriguing watch. The makers and actors have done an amazing job keeping viewers glued to the screen.

Usually, when we watch such stories, we predict the ending. Such love stories often end with a happy ending where everyone gets what they want. But Royalteen takes a different route. While we don’t want to give away spoilers, there’s a sense of uncertainty about what is destined for Lena and Karl.

Has Netflix Renewed Royalteen Part 2?

Lena has a complicated past which is one of the main plotlines. However, Karl isn’t fully aware of what her life had been before they met. So that indicates that the makers have more to explore. So the changes are we might actually get Royalteen Part 2.

While we can hope that there’s a sequel to the Norwegian romantic drama, it all depends on what the makers and Netflix think. If the streaming platform approves, the movie might get renewed for a sequel. However, there is no official confirmation yet. If the response is great, we can expect the OTT platform to give the go-ahead for the sequel.
