Platinum End Episode 11 Overview
Platinum End comes to us by the writers and creators of Death Note and Bakuman, Takeshi Obata and Tsugami Ohba. As if that wasn’t enough reason to get excited about this show, it is being directed by two prominent people in the anime industry. As it is a two-cour series, its first part is being directed by Hideya Takahashi, who has previously directed JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5. The second part is directed by Kazuchika Kise, the animation director behind Your Name and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Platinum End Episode 11 Review- Plot and Characters
Let us get some facts straight before starting this review- Hajime and his future predicting angel were not only able to identify God candidates through the force of sheer luck and intuition, but they were able to reach out to the one man who has been untraceable throughout the show. Hajime tracked down Metropoliman, contacted him without suffering harm, and began worshipping him all out of a sudden? Who wrote this? Were these the same guys who wrote the entire Light vs L saga in Death Note?

If so, where the hell did they hide their comic writing skills before? Platinum End Episode 11 was absolutely hilarious from start to finish, almost always unintentionally so. Saki twiddled and paraded around Hajime very unnaturally, adding another layer of comedy to the scene. Hajime’s personality got replaced almost immediately, so the redemption arc the episode tried to give him holds on weight because it isn’t really him doing these actions.
As expected of them, Mukaido and Mirai were able to escape the Hyperbolic Flying Chamber, but before getting into that, we need to talk about something else. They were holding Mukaido’s daughter and wife in their hands while flying at speeds invisible to the naked eye. Does the show mean to tell us that there are no laws of physics in this magical world? How did at least the civilians not faint during that stupid stunt, if not get their necks broken because of the ordeal?

Of course, Metropoliman finds out about all this curfuffle and vows to kill every single one of his opponents and fails to do any of what he says. He is supposed to be a smart character, yet he lets his subordinates get beaten down three to one and doesn’t even tell his other subordinates to save them? Not only that, he gives the heroes time to recuperate and make strategies before killing them? What even is this show?
As you read above this paragraph, I loved Platinum End Episode 11! No, seriously. As we discussed in the review of the previous episode, I don’t believe there is any artistic merit in discussing Platinum End as a normal anime trying to be good. To preserve our sanities, we need to understand that in no way does Platinum End qualify to be a good anime, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t an entertaining one. There is lots of joy to be had while dissecting the stupider parts, and I hope to keep doing that in the future.
Platinum End Episode 11 Review- Art and Music
The art and music in this episode were mostly the same, largely generic fare that Platinum End usually has, with one exception. For some reason, the character zoom-ins looked a lot better than in previous episodes. The eyes shined extra bright and reflected pictures a tiny bit better, but it made all the difference in making the show look a lot better than it usually does. I loved what it did with the close-ups, and I hope it keeps it going.
Verdict
Platinum End Episode 11 was idiotic and crazy, yet it remained genuinely enjoyable all the same. The key is to laugh at it, not get angry at it.
