Zom 100 Bucket List of the Dead Episode 8 Review- Bucket List

Disappointment Zom 100 Bucket List of the Dead Episode 8

This had to be the funniest episode of the show so far. It had too much going for it- the worries of their previous lives had been wiped away, they had escaped from the clutches of the most populous city in the world, and only had fun things to look forward to. Everything was going very well for our main characters, and things would get even better- they were now also going to be joined in their journey by another person with a zest for life.

Without beating around the bush, Beatrix was a fantastic character to have around in the show. She has a lot going for her- she is completely different from the cast as Beatrix is a foreigner who has come to the country because of how much she loves the culture and has a totally different perspective than the rest of them when it comes to the country. She probably knows more about it than they do, making for a hilarious dynamic for the rest of their exploration of the country that they all now live in.

It also makes for some fantastic contrast between our main cast, as she is almost completely and drastically opposite to Shizuka while matching Akira and Kencho in her whimsy and willingness to enjoy her life to the fullest despite the horrible scenario that they are all put in. Contrast seems to be the go-to thing for Beatrix, as she is also a fierce side to her that comes out when necessary. Combine that with Akira’s dream of becoming a superhero, and you have a real Hero-Sidekick pair to carry the show forward.

The focus this time was onsens, and Zom 100 Bucket List of the Dead Episode 8 managed to craft a fun little detour for the main characters. All this episode had to do was introduce Beatrix, and it did a splendid job of that. There were also some inroads made in the relationship that Akira and Shizuka share, as the duo get to really have a conversation for the first time. Not for long, mind you, but it was a step in the right direction for both of them. Of course, Kencho did not waste any time putting the moves on Beatrix, but what else could you expect from him?

The group feels complete now, and it was a very good idea to keep Bea’s introduction away from the misery and angst that surrounded the arc with Akira’s boss. Due to the show’s production issues, it seems as if Bea’s entry has been delayed a lot. There is some truth to that, but that essentially can’t be helped anymore, and this still leaves us with at least 4 episodes of Bea to enjoy with the rest of the cast. That can only be a good thing.

Verdict

Zom 100 Bucket List of the Dead Episode 8 was a hilarious outing that served as a fantastic introduction to the final member of the show’s core cast and a sign for better things to come!
