Zenshu Episode 6 Recap

Natsuko’s overconfidence in her own abilities led to disastrous consequences. Not only was she utterly defeated, but she also came dangerously close to losing her life. Had it not been for Luke and the others, she wouldn’t have survived. Meanwhile, the void, now in its liquid form, remained completely unaffected by any attacks and made a direct charge toward the Soul Future. Eventually, it attached itself to the tower, solidifying in place and becoming completely immovable. No external force has been able to damage it, leaving Natsuko and her allies in a dire predicament.

This entire situation stemmed from Natsuko’s unwillingness to rely on others. Much like in her previous life, she firmly believed that handling everything on her own was the best course of action. However, this mindset proved to be her downfall. Her refusal to trust her allies leads to a heated argument with Luke, who is frustrated by her insistence on carrying the burden alone. It isn’t until Memmeln steps in that Natsuko begins to see the flaw in her thinking. Just as she wants to protect everyone, the nine soldiers are equally determined to protect her.

With no clear solution, they are forced to come up with a last-minute strategy, unsure if it will even work. Meanwhile, Justice is struggling under the weight of the situation.

Natsuko has been weird from the very beginning of her life. We see her from the eyes of her childhood friend, Midori, who first-hand saw Natsuko being hooked on the anime “A Tale of Perishing” and being obsessed with its characters. Though others considered Natsuko as strange, her friend genuinely thought of her interest as impressive. Sadly, Midori soon moved away, but not before she got a very special present from Natsuko. Midori fell in love that day and a similar effect Natsuko had on another person later as well.

When Natsuko was in middle school, she would act even weirder and ask for random tasks from people so that she could draw them. Her quirkiness made everyone avoid her, but there was one boy who would occasionally sneak glances at her. But his love story also took a tragic turn because Natsuko just wanted to draw him running, that’s all.

Later, when she was in high school, Natsuko influenced the life of another person and unknowingly made him fall in love with her. But this time, the love stemmed from an appreciation for her incredible work. He also took her as a competitor and since then, has kept tabs on her. But her success only made him a bigger fan of Natsuko.

Lastly, the one to fall for Natsuko is her employer, Naomi. The reason is pretty valid because Natsuko is the one who brings in all the money. But what about Natsuko? Did she ever have a first love?

Today’s episode was very unique as it was from the perspective of other characters who were affected by Natsuko in one way or the other. They experienced a great change and organically fell in love with Natsuko’s vibrant self. But, towards the end, we also see an interesting development that can lead to some wild angles.

I loved that we saw Zenshu go on a whole new path and involve new characters. The animation was also very good and changed each time the narrator switched. This was a very cool detail that made this episode more special.
