Wistoria Wand and Sword Episode 3 Recap

In this episode, we dive deeper into the world of Wistoria and Will’s life. Despite being a student, Will works part-time as a paperboy, which is how he learns about Elfie’s new magic creation. Elfie needs Frost Walker ice cores as magic catalysts, prompting the school to offer rewards for those who retrieve these ores from the dungeon, with Elfie as the client.

In love with Elfie, Will eagerly decides to help and asks his friend and roommate, Rusty, to prepare some magic items. Rusty, who treats Will kindly unlike others, supports his endeavor. Will heads to the dungeon’s 4th floor, where many students are already gathering the needed items.

The episode highlights the significance of creating new magic. Elfie is celebrated as the strongest magician ever, having created twelve new spells in her lifetime. Her accomplishments have led many to consider ice magic superior.

In the dungeon, Will encounters an underclassman named Iris, who is being attacked by a creature. Will rescues her, and she gratefully appreciates his help, unlike others who often disdain him. Following this, Will faces a fierce battle with a fearsome creature, showcasing his ability to defeat enemies without magic.

Here, the animation and background music are exceptional, enhancing the overall viewing experience. A twist at the end adds intrigue, where we see Iris working for the Magia Vander.

In the next episode, we might see the higher-ups approaching Will with the intention of using him for their cause. Will, who can not use magic is still more useful and powerful than many of the mages, so it makes sense to utilise his powers. Will might also take this opportunity to get closer to his love, Elfie.
