White House Plumbers Teaser unveils an upcoming American political drama miniseries which is set to premiere next year on HBO. Directed by David Mandel, it is created and written by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck, who are also the executive producers.
Based on public records and the novel Integrity by Egil Krogh and Matthew Krogh, the series tells the story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect.
In the series, Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux will star as Hunt and Liddy, respectively. Domhnall Gleeson (Run) will portray the brilliant, and ambitious White House Counsel, John Dean. Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) will play Hunt’s wife, Dorothy, a CIA asset who tries to hold her family together.

Apart from them, the ensemble cast includes Kiernan Shipka, Ike Barinholtz, Yul Vazquez (The Outsider), David Krumholtz (The Deuce), Rich Sommer (Run), Judy Greer, Kim Coates, Liam James, Zoe Levin, Tony Plana, Zak Orth, Nelson Ascencio, Tre Ryder, Gary Cole (Veep), Toby Huss, John Carroll Lynch, and Kathleen Turner.
The Watergate Scandal was the biggest political scandal involving illegal activities by President Richard Nixon’s administration. The show will explore the events from the perspective of the two White House employees, Hunt & Liddy. The teaser starts off with a secret agent-type scenario and music where the duo is told that the President needs men of action. Their new mission is to make sure he wins this election.
When asked what it means, they are introduced to Sabotage, espionage, infiltration, and bare-knuckle tactics & everything else that they have to do secretly to make sure they win. But what they didn’t realise was that they will become the reason for the first US President’s resignation.
From the teaser itself, you can infer that there will be some secret agent missions, action and some prominent humour, like when Hunt comments on their situation, “We’ll be laughed at as third-rate burglars forever.” With a promising cast, the series will certainly be bit different from the films and shows made on the same subject
White House Plumbers is coming to HBO and HBO Max in March 2023.
