White House Plumbers Plot
Based on public records and the novel Integrity by Egil Krogh and Matthew Krogh, the series tells the story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect. It is set in 1971, when the White House hires Hunt and Liddy, to investigate the Pentagon Papers leak, leading to even bigger missions.

In the latest episode, we see how their work life and personal life is going simultaenously. While Hunt and Dorothy entertain Liddy and his wife Fran at their exclusive country club, their kids Lisa and Saint John create a ruckus that makes them feel embarrassed. Later, on the outs with Nixon’s Attorney General John Mitchell, Hunt and Liddy get a chance to redeem themselves when a leaked memo from Dita Beard puts Mitchell and the administration in legal jeopardy.
They were on the verge of getting kicked out of the committee when they got the golden opportunity to persuade Dita to change her statement & refuse everything. From using her heart issue to get her away from the trial to Howard’s emotional manipulation, it’s fair to say that they became successful in getting their Boss’ name out of the dirt.

By helping John Mitchell get out of the ITT memo mess, he gave them the green light to execute one of their Project gemstones, which turned out to be Opal. Out of all the crazy ideas that they had presented, Mitchell liked the one where they will be bugging the DNC office & spying on their conversations. The episode ended with the duo & their Cuban team looking at the office, which they will have to break into. In the next episode, we might be able to see the 4th successful attempt and all the chaos that ensued before even bugging the place.
