Netflix has released the official trailer for the Polish political thriller High Water. The upcoming series is based on true events and is directed by Jan Holoubek and Bartłomiej Ignaciuk.
The series will have a total of six episodes, with an average length of 40-60 minutes. Notably, the show is centred around destructive floods, government officials, and an unravelling rescue mission.

High Water Plot/Synopsis
The official synopsis reads “In 1997, scientists and local government officials in Wrocław face life-and-death decisions when a destructive flood wave threatens the city.” It is a thrilling political drama that is centred around the havoc-raising floods, and the impact they had on the citizens. The story is focused on real-life based destruction and its after effects.
The government official who reveals the first report about the floods is faced with criticism and disbelief. Although it creates a sense of tension, the city officials are not ready to accept the facts.
The entire construction will be drowned by the floods, and the residents need to be informed and evacuated for the same. However, the bigger issue that collides with the floods, is convincing them to part away with their homes.
A situation of interlock battle arises for the officials. Now they have to amend things and save lives, all while convincing each and every resident to leave their property. Moreover, the series also features a parallel drama between the female protagonist and one of the city officials. Where she also has to deal with personal conflicts of her own.
