2022 is almost over, so now is the time to think about what’s releasing on HBO Max and Hulu in January 2023. January 3
Fantasy Island Season 2- Hulu
A fantasy drama series by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain that is related to the 1977 series of the same name. The second season of the show is back and we will see the fantasy requests of the guests being fulfilled on the island.

Will Trent- Hulu
A crime drama about the titular special agent whose hard life makes him determined that no one follows the same fate as he did.
January 12
Velma- HBO Max
Remember Velma from Scooby Doo? Well, HBO Max’s latest tv series gives her a voice of her own. Developed by Charlie Grandy, Mindy Kaling is the executive producer and voice of the main character for the show.
The Climb- HBO Max
Exploring rock climbing and the spirit that keeps us alive and human, The Climb features Jason Momoa and a visually arresting competition that awaits many.
Name That Tune- Hulu
A musical game show to test how great is one’s music knowledge. We will see contestants battle each other out over an assortment of challenging musical games.
January 13
The Big Soirée/El Gran Sarao- HBO Max
The latest HBO Max original does not have many details out, apart from the fact that it might be yet another guilty pleasure we will tune into.
January 15
The Last of Us- HBO Max
One of the most anticipated releases of January 2023, The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic drama that is based on the 2013 video game of the same name. It stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the lead roles.
January 18
9-1-1 Lone Star Season 4- Hulu
Another season of the procedural drama is here where Owen Strand will continue to help people as he helps himself out of the mess called life.
January 23
Accused: Guilty or Innocent?- Hulu
Hulu’s latest drama is going to be an intimate account of a mother being accused of attempting to murder her sick son after she takes care of him for years.
January 24
How I Met Your Father Season 2- Hulu
Another season of the standalone sequel of the iconic sitcom but, the same old hunt. We are going to see Hilary Duff’s Sophie bare her heart out, much like Ted, in her search to find ‘The One’.
January 26
The 1619 Project- Hulu
A docu-series consisting of six parts, The 1619 Project is from Lionsgate And Pulitzer Prize-Winning Journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones and reframes American history by keeping slavery at its core.
January 31
The Watchful Eye- Hulu
A new thriller about a young woman who is thrust into a world of old money and deadly secrets.
