After that extremely embarrassing and cringy episode, Welcome to Wedding Hell episode 9 starts with Jun-hyeong wondering what to do and how to quench Na-eun’s anger. He thinks back to the situation and makes the decision to call her after drinking a can of beer. Obviously, he ends up drinking several cans and passes out on the sofa. When he does finally wake up in the morning, he continues to stall calling her.

In the end, they don’t talk the entire weekend and afterwards, she wonders how her fiancé has changed so much – it’s like she’s marrying a completely different person altogether. Both of them feel the ramifications of not having a good line of communication before getting married. Jun-hyeong even goes as far as to say that the last day without her felt peaceful and that he felt at peace.

At last, Na-eun texts him first and they decide to have dinner together. That goes as well as anyone can imagine, where neither of them can apologise or discuss their differences at first. However, Na-eun finally does apologise and, taking her lead, Jun-hyeong apologises to her as well, and agrees to accept that they were both wrong and will try to be better with each other from now on.

They also decide to go house hunting with her mother. Both are excited about the prospect but on the day of, Jun-hyeong brings his mother again. The cringe comes right back on the screen and you can just feel the awkwardness creeping up on the screen as the two mothers escalate their conversation to deadly results. Things don’t look up while going through new apartments as both of them keep going at each other. The drama is intense and honestly, it’s just exhausting to watch them trying to get them to make them agree to something they don’t want.

In the end, Jun-hyeong’s mother ends up walking off in a huff again after Na-eun’s mother brings up buying a house instead of renting it. Both of them try to calm their respective mothers down, but it’s to no avail. At the restaurant, things are just as awkward and Jun-hyeong’s mother asks Na-eun whether she wants to rent a house or buy one. It gets awkward fast and the two mothers start arguing with each other causing a scene, albeit quietly.

Frustrated, Na-eun gets up and leaves to go to the bathroom and Jun-hyeong follows her. She tells him that the only way to solve this issue is for them to come to a decision and tell the family what they want. Jun-hyeong agrees to go along with whatever she wants, enraging Na-eun, who tells him that he’s simply trying to push the responsibility on her. Na-eun correctly tells him that ignoring the problem at hand won’t just magically make everything go away and Jun-hyeong, frustrated, exclaims, “here we go again” which Na-eun catches.

This ensues in a fight between them and she tells Jun-hyeong that he’s the one who created this situation after the furniture shop. Jun-hyeong’s mother overhears them and asks her what she wants since she says one thing and then gets angry at Jun-hyeong. That’s when her mother comes over as well and asks his mother whether she’s playing dumb or genuinely doesn’t understand why she’s acting like this, ending the episode on a grim and very awkward cliff-hanger.

Welcome to Wedding Hell Episode 9 Review

I just need to know how both of them are just shrugging their problems under the rug and not discussing what they want before making these huge life decisions. I understand Na-eun’s points in this episode – it’s very difficult to constantly decide on things in a relationship, especially when it’s about something as big as a wedding.

Plus, Jun-hyeong’s mother is quite a twisty woman, out to get Na-eun and her mother so that they can’t hurt her precious baby boy. The meddling from both of the parents is exhausting to watch and sort of cliched. Jun-hyeong’s mother’s comments regarding Na-eun’s bad manners and that they are giving them money are really in bad taste and make me not want to empathise with her. It’s a shame, I really thought that she loved Na-eun. But, well, nope.

Either way, Welcome to Wedding Hell continues to be a dramatic watch albeit extremely exhausting. And at this point, I’m just waiting to watch it crash and burn.

Welcome to Wedding Hell is streaming on Netflix.

  1. Uughh I got so angry with na-eun in this episode though. Even though let’s say she’s correct but the way she diminishes what her fiancé’s opinion is quite rude for me. Thats why I think jun hyeong’s mother got flustered too since she saw her son being cornered and always taking the blame.
I really felt sorry for the guy too
I really think Na-eun has been pushing her beliefs too hard since episode 8 and it is quite sad
