Unseen Season 2 Review: In this crime-thriller series, Zenzi Mwale is back for a second season, and this time she starts off another treacherous journey from jail after confessing to her crimes in the first season. However, prison life turns out to be more difficult than expected, especially when things get more difficult in the outside world.

Unseen Season 2 Review
Unseen Season 2 puts two and two together, trying to get all of the loose threads from the first film together. With Max dead and Zenzile arrested, there’s a long road for her to traverse in order to get justice. Of course, complications arise, and although Zenzile isn’t interested in seeking revenge at first, it’s not a choice she is eventually given.
The first season of this crime-thriller series was a thrilling exploration of a woman’s desperation to save everything that she holds dear. It was thrilling as it was emotional, and despite the few hiccups here and there, it was still absolutely arresting. The second season builds on that story as Zenzi is hunted by the OCM Bank bigwigs, including Reuben Theron, thanks to everything that she knows about the stealing of thousands of rands from the common people.

Another dangerous antagonist comes up through this, TK, who hunts down Zenzi and her family for some mysteriously personal reasons. Although she acts like the muscle in this scheme, her focus and drive to kill Zenzi make her scary and add more thrill to the runtime. Joining her in her quest is her sister Naledi, and thanks to that, we learn a little bit more about our protagonist and who she is as a person and why she does what she does. I think the traumatic and emotional backstory makes the character so easy to root for.
Lyners and Morkel take up a more active role in solving this crime this season. And like most police officers in media, they are almost always a step behind the bad guys. Sometimes I wonder whether the police are just there to give us all the information on a silver platter while the protagonists go through the hard work of actually solving it. Either way, the series uses Zenzile’s adventure to tie all of the loose ends extremely well, taking us on an emotional journey more than a thrilling one.

This season is for Zenzile to face everything that she has done in her life. It’s a very moving depiction of a woman trying to catch a break. It’s relatable and heartbreaking all at once, and showcases the moral issues that every character faces in this journey. In the end, Zenzile makes a ton of tough choices without any help and must look forward to living happily at the end of it all. The series is a thrilling exploration of her grief and quest for revenge that will leave viewers on edge throughout. Although some slow moments will be annoying, I think it ends everything quite well and doesn’t leave anyone guessing.

Final Thoughts

Unseen delivers a very bingeable second season that isn’t without its faults, but is, all in all, quite the thrilling watch. It’s emotional more than anything else and will leave you rooting for Zenzile despite her flaws till the end.
