The previous episode released on October 15, 2022, threw her into a puzzling predicament once she discovered the symptoms of her son, the Crown Prince’s (Bae In-hyuk) fatal illness. Out of her five sons, he’s the only one leading a disciplined lifestyle and thriving in his studies. The remaining four always tend to find themselves engrossed in some or the other shenanigans of the day.

With her son’s deteriorating health condition at the focus, the Queen not only has to tend to him but also look out for his Royal position and reputation in the palace. However, she can never have it easy as the new stills of the upcoming second episode, released by tvN, have another worrying setback in store for her.

The preview at the end of the previous episode already hinted at her following Grand Prince Gye-seong (relatively dutiful compared to his brothers) (Yoo Seon-ho), and the new revelations add to the suspense further. Departing to an isolated location, Gye-seong is followed by his mother. While his demeanor stays calm and neutral, as if familiar with the setting, the Queen on the other hand succumbs to her uneasiness.

Giving in to the shocking revelation, the pictures of the Queen show her clutching onto her chest, leaving her stunned and paralyzed. It makes one wonder what she could’ve witnessed at the undisclosed site. What is Gye-seong hiding from his mother?
