This rapper is known to break convention at almost every turn, whether in music or fashion. So here are some unconventional Doja Cat outfits to show you why we feel that way. She has been breaking the fashion game since the beginning, even in 2018 and 2019. Most recently, she was put into the spotlight when she shared a video on her social media showcasing that she had shaved both her eyebrows and her head. Funnily enough, this gave her more room to play with not just hairstyles but makeup looks that express her personality fully. So let’s check out some of them below.
8 Unconventional Doja Cat Outfits
GRAMMYs 2023
While the artist has always chosen brilliant outfits for award ceremonies, this time, she has taken the class up a notch. In this Atelier Versace black latex mermaid gown, Doja Cat looked ready to strike. She has always prioritised silhouette, and the texture gives the gown a truly intriguing and magnetic feel. Additionally, the lack of a distinct eyebrow makes her smoky eye look prominent, selectively highlighting parts of both her outfit and her makeup.
Viktor and Rolf January 2023
In this Victor and Rolf outfit, Doja Cat is seen sporting a ‘Power Dressing’ Couture at their SS23 Haute Couture show. Paired with those are blue tinted shades in a pill shape, giving her the ‘Hollywood-Producer’ look. However, like all of her outfits, the stroke of uncanny sets in with the large sloping shoulder pats of the suit jacket and high-waisted pants with a long-sleeved ruffled shirt. Additionally, the lashes glued in as a moustache and a goatee are a direct callback to her previous outfit with Schiaparelli, where her fans caught her without eyelashes.
Schiaparelli January 2023
The fated outfit that started this year’s uncanny roster for Doja Cat is fantastic. Covered in around 30,000 Swarovski crystals and painted red from head to chest is a different image altogether. With her makeup done by the well-known artist Pat McGrath, she was wearing a red silk faille bustier, a hand-knit skirt of lacquered wooden beads and trompe l’œil red toe boots, according to the stylist.
This outfit caused quite a commotion on social media. While she was ridiculed for the most part, her fans saw this outfit as normal in her expression as an artist.

MÔNOT October 2022
This MÔNOT outfit is from the Spring Summer show 2023 show, where she is seen wearing a bandage dress with extreme face paint. The artist was seen sporting a red lip with a white foundation base and blue contour. With an open midsection and minimal chest coverage, she had really set the scene for the show. Additionally, the acrylic nails and gloves made the outfit complete, tying the whole look together.
At this point, she hadn’t covered up her body in paint, which made it seem like the face paint was supposed to look like a mask, and the hair and dress seemed to give Morticia Addams energy, save for the long-sleeved dress.
Paris Fashion Week October 2022
Doja Cat is the queen of ostentatious and layered clothing. This outfit consists of triple or more layers of skirts with clashing patterns while keeping the top half significantly tame with a baggy shirt and an equally baggy jacket falling under a similar colour palette. Where the bottom is a mess of fabric, the top is put together and tied in with a headband and earrings that fall like mirrored tassels. Coupled with this, her eye look has once again made the outfit baggier, the sharp lines in her eyeliner clash well against the silhouette of the outfit.
Vogue World September 2022
White is a striking colour against Doja Cat’s normal fashion statements. While this look may not be one of the craziest ones on the list, it is baffling because she has managed to make face paint look sharp and classy. The outfit consisted of a cropped top with a mullet skirt wearing some scuffed-up white boots. Additionally, her face was painted in white globules shaped like the Ghibli water, covering her head and face. Her look also included some slip drawed-in eyebrows and an ombre nude lip.
Fashion Media Awards September 2022
Viktor and Rolf are back once again with their collaboration with Doja Cat. This outfit features a pinstriped suit with broad and off-shouldered pads that make her frame look bigger. It is not that the suit jacket doesn’t contain any shoulder pads, but that the shoulder pads have slipped off to create a structured off-shoulder look for the artist. Additionally, the long sleeves of the suit jacket taper down from a baggy segment at the top, making her frame seem more massive than it is. This top is coupled with a tame high-waisted bottom of the same colour.
She hasn’t used any outlandish makeup look for this, but the back of her head contains an orange symbol, creating a stark contrast with the rest of her outfit.
Billboard Music Awards May 2022
Before Doja Cat cut her hair, she put on many iconic looks, and this is one of them. Sporting a Schiaparelli design, she is seen wearing Daniel Roseberry’s spring 2022 couture collection, which has a velvet bodice in an “aerodynamic neckline.” While the original outfit featured a chest revealing tulle fabric, the artist decided to go with some nipple pasties by Agent Provocateur.
Her outfit also had an invisible silk train while she wore earrings of ears wearing earrings (the most meta thing just happened). Coupled with a space handbag, Doja Cat featured minimal makeup and a subtle graphic liner with an ombre lip.
Doja Cat continues to wear interesting and gratifying outfits that break the mould in a way that is confident. She doesn’t pretend to be conventional and chooses her fashion in the same way she chooses to write her music. Her stylist Brett Alan Nelson fulfils this vision that she has in mind to bring something new.
