Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle Episode 1 Review

In this light-hearted episode, Kajol and Twinkle Khanna, a pair we didn’t know we probably needed in some capacity, come together to ask some comfortable and some uncomfortable questions to their friends and guests, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, a pairing whom, again, we didn’t know we needed.

It’s a bit of a confusing pair, I can’t lie, or maybe I am not privy to tabloids and such, but I found the pair to be refreshing. Maybe it’s the allure of never having seen either Salman or Aamir on a talk show, barring that one Koffee With Karan episode in its heyday, but I found the episode to be quite enjoyable. The hosts asked some interesting questions quite boldly, including, but not limited to, calling Salman a perpetual virgin and Aamir being his complete opposite, which made the episode rather hilarious in some ways.

But, like everything else, the hosts are unable to truly have a conversation about the important stuff. In one segment, they ask the two about the age gap in Bollywood films, particularly involving an older actor opposite a much younger actress and somehow we just brush past that question with half-hearted and absolutely tone deaf answers that are not only terrible to hear but, frankly, an insult to the women sitting in the seats opposite the guests.

The answers in that segment were make-or-break for me, and I was thoroughly disappointed with how the hosts, both women with fantastic careers and a lot of wit about them, too, didn’t think twice before laughing the question away. It will be jarring to even a casual listener because of how blantly obvious and uncomfortable the two men look and sound at that moment.

Furthermore, I didn’t enjoy the games that much. They felt lifeless and somewhat boring because they lacked a spark. The conversation was fun and flowing, though, which will help you to have a breezy one hour.

In the end, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth because Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle has the scope to ask difficult questions and maybe even make an impact in some way. It provided us with hints, but ultimately fell short. Even then, I guess I enjoyed some parts of it.
