Tsurune Season 2 Episode 8 Review and Recap – Practising To Be The Best

The 8th episode of this beautiful anime is here, and we are back again with its review. This episode starts with the boys of Kazemai high school coming to Kirisaki high school for a friendly Kyudo match practice. But first, everyone from Kazemai becomes awed by the beautiful and huge school campus that even has its own cafe for the students. Shortly after, members of both schools reach Kirisaki’s Kyudo shooting ground, which is vast and is also well maintained. Unlike their first meeting, where everyone was nervous with each other, here we can see that the boys of Kazemai and Kirisaki high school get along very well.
Masa san also takes a ceremonial first shot at the request of Shuu. He releases the arrow majestically, and we witness his beautiful form along with his flawless skills, reestablishing the fact that he is the best coach for the Kazemai Kyudo club.
Before the match, both Man and Sen confront Ryohei for being too friendly with Shuu. But that is when Man realises that Shuu has changed for the better and has become more accepting towards his friends after he met Ryohei in his house.
Then, the match begins, and great performances get delivered by both teams. Kazemai is doing much better than before, but they still focus mostly, on their ikiai, thinking about it all the time. Masa san is impressed with their performance, but at the same time, believes they need to go a long way before getting ready for the nationals.
On the other hand, we also saw the Tsujimine high school members having quite difficulty performing with bare minimum equipment. Thankfully Nikaido manages to get some funds for a training camp. This proves that all the Kyudo clubs are gearing up for the next big thing, which is the nationals, and nobody is willing to take a back seat.

Verdict
This episode showcased the fun and playful side of the members of two of the strongest Kyudo clubs. Even though they are supposed to be opponents in the shooting field, they are great friends outside of it. In the end, both schools enjoy a delightful Takoyaki party, where Shuu cooks himself. I definitely enjoyed this episode and will wait for the next one as well. Watch this anime on HIDIVE.
