Tsurune Season 2 Episode 12 Overview

Tsurune Season 2 Episode 12 Review: Who Would Win?
Still From Tsurune Season 2

When the first season of this franchise dropped, we did not think it would be able to make a name for itself in the competitive sports anime market. But, it managed to set itself apart by becoming one of the very first anime that solely focuses on Kyudo, a Japanese martial art of archery.

This second season will be directed by Yamamura Takuya, who has worked on fan favorites like Koe no Katachi, Violet Evergarden, Clannad: After Story, and Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren, etc.

Tsuruoka Youta will be directing the music for this series, and we have heard his works on anime like Koe no Katachi, Violet Evergarden, Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica, Hellsing Ultimate, etc.

Kyoto Animation studios will be handling the animation, and we fans can rest assured of the quality as we have already received masterpieces like Koe no Katachi, Violet Evergarden, etc, from them.

Tsurune Season 2 Episode 12 Review and Recap – Unexpected Results

Tsurune Season 2 Episode 12 Review: Who Would Win?
Still From Tsurune Season 2

The 12th episode of this beautiful anime is here, and we are back again with its review. Today’s episode starts with some past memories where we see a young Minato lying down and being depressed about what appears to be his mother’s sudden death. He then picks himself up and announces to his father that he would love to start Kyudo just like his mother when she was alive. And this is how Minato’s descent into the sport of Kyudo takes place.

Back in the tournament arena, Kazemai enjoys a fun little banter with the students of Tsujimine, who stay back to watch the match between Kazemai and Kirisaki. From the interactions between the members of these two clubs, one could tell that they are on much better terms than before.

Finally, the time of the match arrives, and every family member from both Kisaki and Kazemai’s sides roots for their brothers, sons, friends, etc. Even Saionji sensei comes to cheer her students, whom she dearly treasures.

The match begins, and we, the audience, along with the viewers inside the anime, hold our breath in anticipation of the results. In the beginning, Kirisaki starts with more misses than hits, but the battle ends with a very surprising draw. We could see how focused both the teams were as nobody was willing to let go of this once-in-a-lifetime chance where they could prove themselves.

It has been expressed again and again that Shuu and Minato both consider each other really good friends but, at the same time, nobody is going to take it easy on the other as they would give their best to win.

Tensions escalate when the match goes into the extra round because both teams are on par with the other. What happens next is very surprising, which is why I would urge everyone to go and watch it themselves.

Verdict

This episode had one of the best animations and background scores, which perfectly illustrated the mood of the situation. You will absolutely feel the tension, wondering what is going to transpire and who will win this match. As you know how hard everybody has worked to get to their positions, you will support both Kirisaki and Kazemai but also despair as there can be only one winner. Watch this anime on HIDIVE.
