-True to Love Episode 8 Recap and Review Contain Spoilers-

Episode 8 starts off with Bo-mi and Jin-ho meeting again yet pretending to have met for the first time, in front of everyone else. He came with Jin-woo to help set up the furniture and also have a housewarming party. Su-hyeok also turns up on time, surprising Bo-ra at first but when the food gets delivered to her old address, he is the one to help her get it back.

While having dinner, many things come up like Jin-ho’s destiny girl and how he also fell for a pyramid scheme like Bo-mi & Su-hyeok did for the voice phishing one. Overall, everyone has a good time and Bo-ra also gets over feeling embarrassed & put her focus on working and creating a draft for the book.

Su-hyeok asks her what her next plans are, to which she replies is to break up again. According to her, humans are able to remember limited things as time goes by. Thus the start & ending of a relationship is what remains in memories and Bo-ra wants to change how she was perceived at the end of her relationship. She doesn’t want to be remembered as drunk & begging to take her back, instead leave him with a cool image that will make him think of her in a good light.

While Su-hyeok likes her plan, he has a hard time believing her if she can pull it off. Thus, Bo-ra shows him the ways one can seduce the other. He laughs off her actions as an unpleasant yet hilarious performance but on the same night, he isn’t able to get it out of his head. Which is exactly what Bo-ra said would happen (PS it’s working).

On the other hand, Yu-jeong is head over heels in love with her husband Jin-woo & can’t take her eyes off of him even at work. Seeing his bosses in such love, Jin-ho once again asks Bo-ra for some advice about confessing to his destiny girl. Both the friends think that the Destiny girl is a bad influence & Jin-ho shouldn’t meddle with her, therefore, they advise him to confess in public along with an event – knowing well enough that the girl would reject him because of it.

Following the same advice, he plans to ask her out to eat & on the way they stop at a public busking. There, Jin-ho disappears for a second but comes back with a bouquet and a mic in hand, rapping about his feelings for the one he likes. As expected Bo-mi feels embarrassed by the public proposal & runs away. However, she then comes running back & hugs him, just so he doesn’t feel humiliated for his efforts.

Although Bo-mi accepted his feelings, she questions him about where did he get this idea of the proposal. On hearing her sister & Yu-jeong’s name she calms down & tells him that he doesn’t need to do anything for her, just liking and being nice to her is more than enough. Bo-mi’s love story seems to start here, while Bo-ra is busy shopping for her new breakup ending.

She explains that just like the film La La Land, she wants to appear in front of her ex-boyfriend, to show that she is living a good life and the breakup was the right thing to do. But for that, she needs the perfect dress that will make his heart beat faster and appear as if the world is going slow. While shopping with Su-hyeok, she coincidentally meets his ex, Yu-ri but both are unknown of the relationship each has with the man.

She even drags him to the day of action as they need to be on the stakeout to see if Ju-wan will even come to the cold noodles restaurant as he did usually. Fortunately, he did come & Bo-ra straight away goes to his table and has a cool-headed talk, sharing what hurt her and why she acted like that. It was meant to be a kind of revenge to show that she is living a good life but her sincere feelings come across & before she starts crying, Bo-ra says goodbye in a chic way, leaving her ex a bit stunned with lingering feelings.

On the way out, Su-hyeok seems to wait for her knowing how emotional she could become and unintentionally, Ju-wan see them together. After confessing that her legs were about to give up, Su-hyeok takes her to a karaoke place, so that they can vent their feeling out. However, in the spur of the moment when both of them were overwhelmed with their feelings, they find themselves leaning in & kissing each other.

True to Love Episode 8: Final Thoughts

The episode was all about some much-needed endings and some new, exciting beginnings. Both Bo-ra and Su-hyeok have come a long way from their first meeting when they wouldn’t look each other in the eye. But now it has changed for another reason and their further actions will decide if they will pursue these heart-pounding feelings or leave it as a mistake.
