Mrs Davis Episode 6 Recap and Review: Everyone With Mommy Issues Will Feel Attacked

Mrs Davis Episode 6 Recap and Review: Starring Betty Gilpin, Jake McDorman, Andy McQueen, Chris Diamantopoulos, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Wlaschiha, Katja Herbers, Ely Henry, Jack Foley, Ben Chaplin, Sam Meader and Raphael Corkhill, alongside other cast members, this show is a new absurdist comedy from Peacock following a world where an algorithm is a widely beloved source of emotional support but Simone, a nun, works to bring it down.

This episode, titled “Allison Treasures: A Southern California Story”, is directed by Alethea Jones and runs for 57 minutes. In this episode, Simone and Wiley make the best of what they know to find the holy grail, even if it means that she has to confront her mother.

Mrs Davis Episode 6 Recap

After the hilariously brutal story they heard last time, Simone and Wiley team up once again to confront her mother. As we last remember, she had almost killed Simone and had accused her of acting on her father’s behalf to cross her personal boundaries. This time, Simone is determined to get through to her mother and get Lazarus’ Shroud. Before she makes her way to the head office, though, Wiley asks her to go meet Jay.

While she’s there, she tells him about Clara and the things happening on Earth, especially when the AI is concerned. However, she is pulled out of the trance when Wiley motions her towards the elevator. At the office, Celeste, Simone’s mother, is happy to hand over the Lazarus Shroud to her daughter. Only if she tells Celeste where Monty, her father, is because, apparently, he is alive. Simone completely ignores everything her mother is saying and only asks pertinent questions.

Inside, Simone and her mother are having the most intense conversation but outside, Wiley is psyching himself up to get his nose to bleed. The duo make their exit, and the incredibly white couch is completely ruined. The Resistance uses this couch as an entry strategy to steal the Lazarus Shroud. However, the couch timing is the time we see a flashback from her father’s funeral. We see that Wiley had also attended this funeral, and Simone was very open to grieving with him (in case anyone missed the double entendre here, they went to the broom closet to hook up).

However, before they could go any further, she stopped him and decided to let it go. Of course, Wiley was flustered and felt used. When they wake up in the office, they decide to get to work in order to steal the shroud. The writer must explain that they need the shroud because Simone’s father was supposed to use the shroud as a way to escape from a vat of acid. And since Simone needs to retrieve something from the belly of a whale, she decides to use this opportunity to take help from her mother.

Meanwhile, at the office, Simone is punching in the password, trying not to get crushed by a trash compactor. Wiley is trying to make a hole in the office, securing their exit. However, when they do end up doing everything right, they see that the whole set-up was fake. Out walks Simone’s mother, holding the keys to everything. They once again have a big conversation about Monty and Simone’s role in helping him fake his death. She completely denies everything and reiterates that her father is dead.

Celeste does not believe that at all and shows Simone photos of her dad from ATM machines. She is totally rattled and doesn’t know what to do with herself. Complaining about feeling hot and exhausted, she takes off her clothes and is in her undergarments when Wiley points it out to her. The two of them hook up until Wiley realises that she went to Jay’s restaurant, and they stop after that. The Resistance comes and picks them up.

Before they go back to the base, Simone gets off at a restaurant and asks one of the patrons to proxy her to Mrs Davis. The AI tells Simone that she was always an accomplice to her father and must accept it. But the AI is ready to provide any and all information regarding this case. She asks the AI where Monty is, and the person proxying is so horrified that she hands over the earbuds to Simone. Taking this information to her mother, the duo make a deal that she will take the Lazarus Shroud and also bring her dad back.

Mrs Davis Episode 6 Review

Y’all. This show manages to get better at every episode. The symbolism is fantastic, and the way the visual language is constructed to incorporate multiple timelines is brilliant and flawless. There must be so many ways to speak about religion, humour and technology together, but this show is the perfect combination of that. In this episode, it has also been made clear that family and fate are like two black holes orbiting each other.

This is a brilliant continuation because it seems like the AI is hell-bent on making life easier for this one person, and everything is suddenly serendipitously falling into place for her. The episodes have not been getting any slower, and this ending will be fantastic.
