Tomo-chan Is a Girl Episode 4 Review and Recap – Love Problems

Another hilarious episode of Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is here, and we are back again with its review. The beginning of the episode establishes a new and interesting couple, who has a great dynamic between them. No, they are not the protagonists of this anime, but it is Misuzu and Tanabe.
When Tanabe first comes to greet Misuzu, she, just like always, blatantly disregards his presence and asks who he is, even though she has talked to him before.
He then goes on a mission to make her smile. But it is definitely not that easy of a task to accomplish, as she only smiles for one special person, who really came off as a surprise to us.
The anime then jumps into another story where Tomo wants to be friendlier with her female friends and hug them, as one would. Misuzu obviously denies this particular request, but Carol eagerly comes forward to hug Tomo. But this strangely affects Misuzu somehow, which gives us more insight into her character.
We also saw the relationship between Tomo’s mother and father, which is another peculiar yet endearing story. Tomo’s father is extremely shy in front of his wife, even though he is monstrously strong. Apparently in school, he was the one who would protect his lover at all costs. Jun seemed he learned something from this story.
Next, we move on to another unrequited love that has somewhat of a similar situation to Tomo’s. This time it is Carol who wants some love advice from Misuzu. And the man of her dreams is none other than Misaki, who treats Carol as his own sister. It is indeed a big problem.

The last segment was about the two girls, Ogawa and Mifune, who clearly have a crush on Tomo. They fall for Tomo more, after she beats the guy who was bullying Ogawa. Later he tries to ambush Tomo with his boys, but Jun listens to their plan, and the rest is history.
Verdict
This episode was divided into many stories, and each tale will be able to make you laugh. Tomo-chan Is a Girl is slowly proving to be a great example of a rom-com done right with its sweet moments accompanied by funny scenarios.
It has a pretty fast pace which adds to its entertainment value. I definitely recommend watching this for the laughs and the heart-pounding moments. Watch this anime on Crunchyroll.
