The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 3 Ending Explained

Towards the end of The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 3, it is shown that Nynaeve is living a peaceful, homely life with Lan as her husband. The two even share a daughter and everything is going fine. This reality happens to be the aftermath of Nynaeve leaving the tower. The episode ending does not hide from us the fact that she has a good relationship with Perrin and Mat, who have come to visit and stay with her family whereas her relationship with Egwane (who is an Aes Sedai now) is strained.

As Nynaeve and Lan clean up after dinner while their daughter plays with Perrin and Mat, their house is attacked by a bunch of trollocks. Havoc wreaks as the trollocks break down the door. Nynaeve puts her daughter in the house’s basement and goes to fight beside Lan, Perrin and Mat. However, by the time she reaches her first trollock to kill, it has seemingly already killed Mat and is consuming Mat’s dead body.

Following this, Perrin and Lan also die in front of her eyes. Due to this, Nynaeve manifests a huge surge of power turning the trollocks into thin air and breaks down crying. As she cries over Lan’s dead body, her daughter comes out and calls for her. At the same time, Nynaeve is able to see the first silver arch- the only time she will get a way out. As she heard of trollock close up on her and her daughter, she carried her little one in her arms and rushed towards the silver arch.

Ultimately, Nynaeve is back in the real world and out of the arches. She starts howling once she gets out and is consoled by Egwane.
