The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 5 Review

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 5 gives us finally what we all have been craving for- a lovely dose of Jeremiah. From how Jeremiah felt about Conrad’s and Belly’s relationship to his present thoughts about the sparks that are flying everywhere. There were some moments of hard truth with yet another ending that left us feeling rather sad.

The episode started right where the last episode ended- the house is empty, Aunt Julia has cleaned it for the open house sale and it seems inevitable that the house is no longer the Fisher boys’. It was so tragic and emotional as Goodbye by Cage the Elephant starts playing when we watch all the kids run around the house, finding all their furniture removed, and the house looking like a ghost town. Even Skye is upset with what their mother has done and we agree.

However, the major concern for the moment was where the kids will stay the night and they end up in the golf club place from last season where most of the story unfolded. No kidding, there was a sense of nostalgia in this moment and throughout the entire episode when the group finalized spending the night at the club (thank you, Cam!).

During this night a lot of things unravelled. Jeremiah took his position as a narrator and we got a deeper dive into his life so far. His intimacy with Belly was all over the place as was Steven and Taylor’s. Meanwhile, Conrad was on a mission to find a way to save the house and, he finally does!

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 Episode 5: Final Thoughts

With sadness and helplessness, this episode has broken us in some sense. We have no idea The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 is giving us so many moments of growing up in pain. Adolescence is hard and with Susannah gone, it feels like everything is gloomy and unbearable. Even the romance is sad. Thank god, most of us are a sucker for all these sad vibes making this episode a teary Taylor Swift song.
