When is the Animated Film The Sea Beast Releasing on Netflix? Read to Know

The Sea Beast is an animated adventure film which will be released on Netflix in July. It was produced in-house at Netflix Animation and was earlier released in select theatres on June 24, 2022, before debuting on Netflix. It is directed by Chris Williams, an Academy Award-winning filmmaker known for (Moana, Big Hero Six & Bolt) and this will be his solo directorial debut.

The film has a runtime of about 1 hour and 59 minutes in total. The trailer of the film shows a monster hunter who is on his way to a big mission but has to take care of a young girl on the ship, in the middle of the sea full of deadly monsters.

The characters are voiced by Karl Urban as Jacob Holland, Zaris-Angel Hator as Maisie Brumble, Jared Harris as Captain Crow, Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Sarah Sharpe, Doon Mackichan as the Queen, Jim Carter as the King, Dan Stevens as Admiral Hornagold and Kathy Burk.

The Sea Beast Plot/Synopsis

The official synopsis of the film reads – When a young girl stows away on the ship of a legendary sea monster hunter, they launch an epic journey into uncharted waters and make history to boot. In an era when terrifying beasts roamed the seas, monster hunters were celebrated heroes and none were more beloved than the great Jacob Holland.

But when young Maisie Brumble stows away on his fabled ship, he’s saddled with an unexpected ally. Together they embark on an epic journey into uncharted waters and make history. In this feel-good film, they will teach and learn from each other while on a dangerous expedition. The Sea Beast takes us to where the map ends, and the true adventure begins.
