The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Overview

Katsute Mahō Shōjo to Aku wa Tekitai Shiteita is a Japanese four-panel manga created by Cocoa Fujiwara. It ran in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine from September 2013 to March 2015, and its chapters were compiled into three tankōbon volumes.

An anime adaptation by Avex Pictures was announced at Anime NYC on November 17, 2023. The series, produced by Bones and directed by Akiyo Ohashi, features scripts by Yuniko Ayana, character designs by Haruko Iizuka, and music by Mayuko. Several voice actors from the 2015 drama CD will reprise their roles. The anime will premiere on July 9, 2024, on AT-X and other networks.

The opening theme, “Mikansei Rendezvous” (Incomplete Rendezvous), is performed by Lezel, and the ending theme, “Itsumo Futari ga Ii ne” (It’s Nice That the Two of Them Are Always Together), is performed by Yūki Ono and Mai Nakahara.
