A new episode of the video game adaptation has been released and The Last of Us Episode 3 Twitter reactions have already set sights on the best ships in the show. The HBO Max series stars Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Nick Offerman, Anna Torv and Merle Dandridge, alongside other cast members. The show is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. This week, we see Murray Bartlett in the episode as Frank, lowering some barriers Bill has put up.
HBO Max’s synopsis of the series reads, “The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.” In this weeks episode, we see Joel make his way to his friend Bill’s place. A new character Frank is introduced and the two of them survive through the apocalypse together.
The queer fans rejoice as a small romance from the games become a full-length episode delving into their lives. The episode preview shows how Frank and Bill met in the most uncanny circumstances. Bill pointing a gun at Frank’s face and the both of them lightly flirting with each other. In the midst of some mass graves, seeing an infected settled uncomfortably below some concrete and an altogether horrifying cluster of visuals, Bill and Frank are the breath of fresh air this episode.

Piano playing has never been more romantic especially when not played well. Bill and Frank immediately become a contender for a fan favourite ship. However, there is some serious competition when we see Joel and Tess also being their cute selves, having dinner with each other. Well, things don’t end well, to say the least. Joel has seen trauma worth lifetimes but it doesn’t deter him completely. It takes him back enough to gather his emotions.
Now, Ellie and Joel try to find the latter’s brother Tommy because he was a Firefly and probably where all the doctors are. Now that the car is still available, the duo make a road trip towards their destination. Gut-wrenching, heart shattering, soul-breaking are just some of the words fans have been using to describe this episode. Along with memes and stills from the show, viewers have been making tweets blurry eyed filled with tears.
